'Splintered' Announced for Blu-ray

The award-winning teen horror film will haunt Blu-ray in March.
In an early announcement to retailers, Well Go USA is prepping 'Splintered' for a Blu-ray release on March 20.
The film stars Stephen Martin Walters (TV’s “Skins”), Holly Weston, Sacha Dhawan (TV’s “Outsourced”), Sadie Pickering, Jonathan Readwin ('Dread'), Sol Heras and Colin Tierney. The film won six awards at the Screamfest Horror Film Festival, including Best Picture, Best Directing, Best Editing, Best Score, Best Special Effects and Best Make-Up. In addition, it was nominated for Best Horror Film at the 35th Annual Saturn Awards and for Most Memorable Mutilation for the arm removal scene at Spike TV's 2009 Scream Awards.
Specs have yet to be revealed, but the release will be a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack and supplements will include a behind the scenes featurette, deleted scenes, and trailers.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $26.98.

'Blade of Kings' Announced for Blu-ray

The epic adventure starring Donnie Yen, Jackie Chan, and Bing Bing Fan is coming to Blu-ray in March.
In an early announcement to retailers, Well Go USA is prepping 'Blade of Kings' for a Blu-ray release on March 6.
The all-star cast also includes Charlene Choi ('Triple Tap,' 'The Jade and the Pearl'), Gillian Chung ('Vampire Effect'), and Hong Kong Film Award nominee for Best Newcomer Jaycee Chan ('1911') in the tale of a humble boy born to rule an empire who must first undertake his journey to claim his throne in the mythical land of Huadu. Nominated for four Hong Kong Film Awards, including Best Visual Effects, the film was directed by Patrick Leung and Cory Yuen.
Specs have yet to be revealed, but the release will be a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack and supplements will include the behind-the-scenes featurette “The Making of Blade of Kings” and a music video.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $29.98.

'Ocean Heaven' Announced for Blu-ray

The powerful drama starring Jet Li is bound for Blu-ray in February.
In an early announcement to retailers, Well Go USA is prepping 'Ocean Heaven' for a Blu-ray release on February 7.
Wang (Li), a maintenance man at an Ocean Park-style water theme park, lives with his 20-year-old son, David (Zhang). David suffers from autism and is unable to function independently in the outside world. He is a competent swimmer and regularly joins Wang at work, where he is allowed to play in the large aquariums with the dolphins, turtles and other tropical fish. However, when Wang discovers he has terminal cancer and only a matter of months left to live, he must help David assimilate into normal society, or risk him being incarcerated in a hellish mental asylum.
Specs have yet to be revealed, but the release will be a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack and supplements will include Jet Li interview about autism, deleted scenes, photo gallery, and trailers.

'War of the Arrows' Announced for Blu-ray

Award-winning writer/director Kim Han-Min ('Handphone,' 'Paradise Murdered') will unsheath the lavish historical action epic this February on Blu-ray.
In an early announcement to retailers, Well Go USA is working on 'War of the Arrows' for Blu-ray on February 21.
The film was honored four times at the 2011 Daejong Awards, including Best Actor (Park Hae-il) and Best New Actress (Moon Chae-won), and picked up five trophies at the 2011 Blue Dragon Film Awards, including Best Actor (Park Hae-Il), Best Supporting Actor (Ryoo Seung-Ryong), Best New Actress (Moon Chae-Won) and the Audience Choice Award for Most Popular Movie.
Set in 1636, the second Manchurian invasion of Korea rages chaos, as villages are attacked by overpowering Manchurian soldiers. The Manchurians kidnap childhood sweethearts, Ja-in and Seo-Goon on their wedding day. In an effort to save his sister, Ja-in’s brother Nam-Yi sets out to defeat the enemy and save his sister and other Korean victims with only 1 bow.

The blood-soaked Japanese gorefest will splatter onto Blu-ray in February.
In an early announcement to retailers, Well Go USA is prepping 'Yakuza Weapon' for a Blu-ray release on February 7.
Another warped film from the prolific Japanese production company Sushi Typhoon, 'Yakuza Weapon' is based on the cult manga by Ken Ishikawa and stars stuntman-turned-director Tak Sakaguchi as a one-man, butt-kicking army out to avenge the death of his father with built-in firepower.
Stuntman-turned-director, Tak Sakaguchi, directs himself as a hard-hitting maverick who returns to Tokyo, only to discover his Yakuza father murdered, his family headquarters turned into a shady loan shop, and a powerful gang leader attempting to overthrow the entire criminal underworld! With rival gangs jacked up on “hyperdrug,” he must becomes a one-man, butt-kicking army – and things only get wilder when he loses an arm and a leg, only to have them replaced with more firepower than the entire Japanese military possesses..

'1911' Announced for Blu-ray

The epic war drama and Jackie Chan's 100th film is coming to Blu-ray early next year.
In an early announcement to retailers, Well Go USA is prepping '1911' Blu-ray/DVD combo pack as well as a Collector's Edition Blu-ray for a release on January 10.
From the walls of the Forbidden City to the battlefields of China, with no expense spared in production and no detail ignored in its quest for historical accuracy, making '1911' a true epic in every sense of the word. The film details a key moment in modern Chinese history—the fall of the Qing Dynasty—and the violent rebellion that brought it down. In addition to Chan (who also co-directed with cinematographer Zhang Li), the film also stars Li Bing Bing ('Triple Tap'), Winston Chao ('The Wedding Banquet,' 'Eat Drink Man Woman'), Joan Chen ('The Last Emperor,' 'Lust,' 'Caution') and Jaycee Chan ('Break-Up Club'). The extensive bonus features include deleted scenes, interviews with Jackie Chan and Li Bing Bing, a making-of featurette and behind-the-scenes footage.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack is $29.98 and the Collector's Edition Blu-ray is $32.98.

The action-thriller from two-time Best Director Hong Kong Film Award winner Derek Yee will tap into high-definition this December.
In an early announcement to retailers, Well Go USA is prepping 'Triple Tap' for a Blu-ray release on December 6.
Champion competitive marksman Ken comes across an armored van robbery. He sees a policeman held hostage and shoots and kills four of the robbers. One of the robbers escapes and the policeman survives. The case is handled by Jerry Chang, whom Ken knows from having recently beaten him in a shooting match. Ken is found not guilty in court. Soon after, Ken is attacked by the escaped robber Pang Tao. Their confrontation reveals a very different background story and brings about a myriad of lies and traps and changes in relationships as Jerry and Ken try to outsmart each other.
Specs have yet to be revealed, but the release will be a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack and supplements will include director and actor interviews, a behind-the-scenes featurette, deleted scenes, and a photo gallery.

'Helldriver' Blu-ray Dated

A Japanese blood-soaked, zombie splatter-fest will explode on Blu-ray this November!
In an early announcement to retailers, Well Go USA is prepping 'Helldriver' for a Blu-ray release on November 22.
From director Yoshihiro Nishimura ('Tokyo Gore Police,' 'Vampire Girl Vs. Frankenstein Girl') comes the epic, apocalyptic Zombie-fighting road movie from the prolific Japanese production company Sushi Typhoon. 'Helldriver' takes place in a Japan where half the population has become not-so-sexy flesh eaters and the economy has gently withered away ... until Kika (Yumiko Hara) arrives. A stunning high school girl armed with an artificial heart-powered chainsaw sword, she leads a motley crew of desperados on a secret mission into the zombie-infected wilds to exterminate zombie queen Rikka (Eihi Shiina, 'Tokyo Gore Police') and put an end to the plague of the living dead.
Specs have yet to be revealed, but the release will be a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack and supplements will include three exclusive short films set within the 'Helldriver' universe: 'Helldriver Dokata' (directed by Helldriver First Assistant Director Jun Shiozaki), 'Catch Me If You Can!' (directed by Lighting Director Hiroshi Ota), and 'Bailout!' (directed by poster designer Yoshiki Takahashi). Additional added value includes an in-depth interview with the Japanese splatter king himself, Yoshihiro Nishimura and two behind-the-scenes featurettes: “The Making of Helldriver,” directed by Helldriver actor Demo Tanaka that not only details the making of the film, but also the literally hellish conditions under which the film was shot (two-week shooting schedule, bad weather) and "Sushi Typhoon: Tokyo Invasion!," featuring interviews with many of the Sushi Typhoon team while launching the Sushi Typhoon festival, where four films were screened for a month in the Ginza area of Tokyo.

The philosophical and action-packed Hong Kong blockbuster will kung-fu kick Blu-ray in October.
In an early announcement to retailers, Well Go USA is prepping 'Shaolin (Blu-ray/DVD Combo)' and 'Shaolin: Collector's Edition' for a Blu-ray release on September 27.
Andy Lau ('House of Flying Daggers,' 'Future X-Cops'), Nicolas Tse ('The Stool Pigeon,' 'Storm Warriors'), and international superstar Jackie Chan ('The Karate Kid,' 'Rush Hour' trilogy) star in the martial arts remake of Jet Li’s 'Shaolin Temple' (1982). Acclaimed director Benny Chan ('City Under Siege') tells an epic tale of sadistic warlords squaring off against noble monks in “a tale of monstrous evil, spiritual transformation and ultimate self-sacrifice” (Mark Jenkins, NPR).
Specs have yet to be revealed, but supplements on the Collector's Edition will include Behind the scenes interviews (including interview with Shaolin Abbot), a making of featurette, and deleted scenes.

The acclaimed Hong Kong crime thriller explodes on Blu-ray next month!
In an early announcement to retailers, Well Go USA is prepping 'The Stool Pigeon' for a Blu-ray release on September 27.
Director Dante Lam reunites Nicholas Tse ('Shaolin,' 'Bodyguards and Assassins') and Nick Cheung ('Triad Election,' 'Exiled') from the 2008 hit 'Beast Stalker' in the action thriller 'The Stool Pigeon.'
Tse plays an ex-convict nicknamed Ghost, who unwillingly works as an informant for police detective Don Lee (Cheung) in order to clear debts left by his late father and to rescue his only sister out of prostitution. The film was nominated for eight awards at the 2011 Hong Kong Film Awards, including Best Film, Best Director (Dante Lam), Best Screenplay (Wu Wei Lun), Best Actor (Nick Cheung), and Best Supporting Actor (Liu Kai Chi), with Nicholas Tse taking home the trophy for Best Actor.
The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack, and supplements include director and actor interviews, behind the scenes featurette, deleted scenes, and photo gallery.
