Dragons can be difficult beasts to track. They like to hide in out-of-the-way places. Ultra HD SteelBook editions of the first two How to Train Your Dragon movies are coming soon, but, at least so far, they can only be found at Best Buy Canada.
With another sequel on track for early next year, it stands to reason that DreamWorks and Universal would use the opportunity to upgrade the earlier HTTYD movies to 4k Ultra HD. It seems that Best Buy is partnering with the studios to offer SteelBook copies. Again, that’s not terribly surprising. However, it’s a little strange that they’re only available for now specifically in the Canadian branch of Best Buy.
The case artwork on both looks pretty nice. No goofy Pop Art designs here. My main hesitation in double-dipping is that, personally, I think both of these movies are best watched in 3D. I’m not sure that I feel like rebuying them just for SteelBooks.

What About the USA?
Will these SteelBooks come to the United States as well? I’d expect so, but that’s not clear yet. If you go to the American Best Buy site and search for “How to Train Your Dragon SteelBook,” you’ll find what appear to be Ultra HD listings for both movies.
Neither says “SteelBook” or has any artwork posted, and if you try to click on either one you’ll just be taken to a broken link.
Is this just poor web site management on Best Buy’s part? Probably. With luck, clearer listings will go up soon (and hopefully with better pricing). If so, I’ll try to remember to update this post.
