The Phoenix Wright Movie Will Come to the US
Wed Feb 01, 2012 at 11:30 AM ETTags: Phoenix Wright, Videogame Movies (all tags)
From the sound of things, it will come in DVD/Blu-ray form, skipping theaters.
'Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney' has just been screened at the International Film Festival Rotterdam and it's been met with high praise. It's over the top and ridiculous, just like the games, but as Twitch Film's Ard Vijin says that if you're the kind of person who is willing to have some fun, you'll love the flick.
The movie is helmed by director Takashi Miike, who you may know as the dude behind 'Audition' and 'Ichi the Killer.' During a Q&A at the film festival, Miike confirmed that 'Phoenix Wright' will be coming to the US and other markets.
Miike says that each region will keep the Japanese soundtrack but add subs and dubs for the voices. Since he mentions both subtitles and dubbed voices, we're guessing that's not a theatrical release. He adds that each region will be seeing and hearing the character names from their version of the game.

Sony Registers 16 Different 'Assassin's Creed' Movie Domains

Looks like the movie is happening after all!
There's been a lot of speculation as to whether an 'Assassin's Creed' movie would be happening or not, but then the news broke that Sony and Ubisoft were nearing a final agreement on production of the franchise. Now it seems the deal is complete as Sony is gearing up to market the movie.
The folks over at Fusible found that Sony registered a total of 16 different domains, all having to do with the 'Assassin's Creed' movie. They're all different iterations of the same name, "AssassinsCreedMovie.com," so there's no confusion about exactly what they're for.
The domains were actually registered before either company mentioned the agreement publicly, which makes us think that there wasn't a lot of debate over whether the movies would happen or not.
