'The Hurt Locker' Announced for Blu-ray

The critically-acclaimed film about Bravo Company's bomb disposal unit stationed in Iraq is coming to high-definition early next year.
Summit Entertainment says they will be bringing Kathryn Bigelow's film 'The Hurt Locker' starring Jeremy Renner, Anthony Mackie, and Ralph Fiennes to Blu-ray on January 12.
Specs and suggested list price aren't available yet, but supplements will include an audio commentary with director Kathryn Bigelow and writer Mark Boal; The Hurt Locker: behind the scenes; and an image gallery.

'Push' Eyes July Blu-ray Date

Summit Entertainment is bringing the teen sci-fi adventure 'Push' to Blu-ray in early-July.
Starring Chris Evans and Dakota Fanning as a pair of teens on the run from a shadowy supernatural organization, 'Push' pulled in a domestic box office gross of $30 million.
Summit will release the Blu-ray July 7, day-and-date with the standard DVD.
Tech specs will see 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video (2.39:1) and a DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround track.
Extras include audio commentary with director and cast, a making-of featurette, and deleted scenes.
Suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $34.95.

Summit Sets 'Knowing' Blu-ray Date, Specs

'Knowing' has gotten a release date and specs, with Summit bringing the sci-fi hit to Blu-ray in early July with multiple bonus features.
As previously reported, the $70 million-grossing Nicolas Cage smash will arrive on Blu-ray July 7 (day-and-date with the standard DVD), and now final specs are in.
The 121-minute film will be presented in 1080p video (2.39:1) and English DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround.
Extras include audio commentary with director Alex Proyas, and two making-of featurettes.
Suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $39.99.

The end of the world is nigh on Blu-ray, with Summit Entertainment announcing an early-July release for the hit sci-fi yarn 'Knowing.'
The Nicolas Cage-starrer defied critical slings and arrows to emerge as one of Spring's bigger sleepers, eventually grossing over $60 million domestically. Summit will release the Blu-ray July 7, day-and-date with the standard DVD.
We have yet to receive any tech specs or supplement details, but as always, watch this space.

'Paul Simon and Friends' to Sing Blu-ray Song this June

Music legend Paul Simon is making his Blu-ray debut, bringing his star-studded concert spectacle 'Paul Simon and Friends' to high-def in early June.
Earning the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for popular performance, the full-length concert film features Simon singing some of his biggest hits and favorite covers, and includes performances but such fellow legends as Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, George Harrison, Lyle Lovett and Art Garfunkel.
Summit Entertainment will release the complete 110-minute concert as a single-disc Blu-ray set on June 2, day-and-date with the standard DVD.
We have no tech or supplement specs as of yet, but we'll keep you posted. Watch this space.

Paramore to Rock Blu-ray with 'The Final Riot!'

Indie rockers Paramore will debut their first Blu-ray this March 3, when Summit releases a high-def version of the CD 'The Final Riot!'
A modern rock smash when it first hit stores late last year, little information is known about the Blu-ray version of 'The Final Riot!', other than its March 3 street date.
We're currently awaiting word from Summit on audio specs, as well as whether there will be any text or video portion to the release. As always, watch this space for full details as soon as they're confirmed.

Let There Be 'Twilight,' But Just For Best Buy and Target

The teen vampires of 'Twilight' will be headed to high-def as Best Buy and Target exclusives, with Summit confirming details of the film's March Blu-ray release.
As previously reported, Summit Entertainment will release the blockbuster day-and-date on Blu-ray and DVD March 21. The title will initially be available on Blu-ray only at Best Buy and Target retail and online outlets, before eventually being made available to other retailers beginning May 5.
Just-confirmed specs include 1080p video and DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround audio.
Extras feature an audio commentary with director Catherine Hardwicke and stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, the seven-part documentary "The Adventure Begins: The Journey from Page to Screen," a "Comic-Con Phenomenon" featurette, ten deleted/extended scenes, and three music videos by Linkin Park, Muse and Paramore.
As previously announced, suggested list price for the Blu-ray has been set at $34.95.

Last year's biggest sleeper smash, the teen vampire sensation 'Twilight' will rise on Blu-ray this March.
Based on the first of Stephenie Meyer's popular series of young adult novels, 'Twilight' proved to be 2008's breakout hit, grossing nearly $150 million at the domestic box office (largely thanks to the lunch money of teenage girls).
Summit Entertainment has alerted retailers that the PG-13 horror film will hit Blu-ray on March 21, day-and-date with the standard DVD.
There are no tech or supplement specs at this early date, but we expect further details in the days ahead. Watch this space.

Coming to Blu-ray "Unrated and Creme-Filled," Summit Entertainment has announced an early-February high-def debut for the comedy 'Sex Drive.'
The teen sex comedy-on-wheels (which grossed $35 million at the domestic box office) will hit Blu-ray on February 3, day-and-date with the standard DVD.
Presented in an unrated version with even more racy footage, tech specs will see 1080p video and DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround audio.
Extras have not yet been announced, but the Blu-ray is billed as a "Creme-Filled" special edition, so we expect plenty of nutritional supplements. We'll keep you posted.

Summit to Release Trio of Music Blu-rays this November

Announcing a trio of next-gen music titles, Summit Entertainment will bring live concert releases from Barenaked Ladies, O.A.R., and Heart to Blu-ray this November.
Kicking off the indie distributor's November music slate will be 'O.A.R.: Live at Madison Square Garden' on November 4, followed three weeks later on November 25 by 'Barenaked Ladies: Talk to the Hand - Live in Michigan' and 'Heart: Dreamboat Annie Live.'
Preliminary text specs see 1080 video (1.78:1) on all three releases, though there is no confirmation yet on audio.
Extras will be comparable to the standard DVD extras, including featurettes, band interviews and more.
Suggested retail price has been set at $34.99 each.
