Paradigm Launches New Monitor Series 7 Subwoofers
Wed Oct 26, 2011 at 12:00 PM ETTags: Paradigm, Subwoofers (all tags)
The new subs offer performance in a small package, with ranges down to 16Hz.
When you think about Paradigm subwoofers, you might think of the hexagonally shaped Sub 1 and Sub 2 from their Signature line. They're sweet subs and totally cool looking, but they don't fit every aesthetic.
Paradigm's new Monitor Series 7 subwoofers carry a bit of the same technology as the Sub 1 and Sub 2 but with a more conventional design. These single driver subs are powered by Ultra-Class D amplifiers that deliver 300 watts of sustained power and 900 watts peak. Inside you'll find a 4.5 pound ferrite magnet - bumped up to 6.5 for the top of the line Sub 12.
You'll find the Sub 8, which pumps out audio down to a frequency of 18Hz, for $699. The Sub 10 can go down to 17Hz at a price of $849 and the Sub 12, which packs a larger voice coil and magnet, can get sound down to 16Hz and comes in at $999.

Paradigm Announces New Value Based Speakers

The newest Cinema series from Paradigm features tech from high-end speakers at an affordable price.
Paradigm's latest series of speakers are designed for folks who want good quality sound that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. The speakers have been completely redesigned and feature what Paradigm calls "trickle-down technologies" from their higher end speaker lines.
All of the new speakers utilize reference quality crossovers, satin-anodized aluminum-dome tweeters, and mesh-wire tweeter guards that use the same WaveGuide technology you'll find in the Reference Signature series.
The cinema series also features a sub with increased dynamic range over the previous model. It boasts an 8 inch driver made of polymer composite and can produce 300 watts peak and 100 watts sustained. It comes with the Cinema 100 CT system and is available separately as well.
