HP Launches a New 3D Envy Laptop
Mon Nov 21, 2011 at 10:00 AM ETTags: Laptops, HP (all tags)
HP promises improved viewing angles and a much cooler laptop.
The HP Envy line is well named. They're very slick laptops and the newest additions to the line are even slicker. They give you Intel Core i7 processing power and AMD Mobility Radeon graphics processing. You'll get a minimum of 6GB of RAM - upgradeable to 16GB - and at least a 750GB hard drive.
The Envy 15, the Envy 17 and the Envy 17 3D all pack Blu-ray players and boast pristine HD pictures but only the latter takes it into the third dimension. You'll use included active shutter 3D glasses to enjoy your 3D viewing experience.
As far as audio goes, you can use headphones or send sound through the six speakers and single subwoofer featuring Beats Audio technology.
The Envy line will be available on December 7th, with the Envy 17 3D coming in at $1,599.

HP Wireless TV Connect Streams 1080p 3D from PC to TV
Mon Nov 14, 2011 at 10:00 AM ETTags: HP, Wireless HDMI (all tags)
1080p video, 7.1 channel audio, 3D capabilities and absolutely no wires.
Wireless HDMI connections have come a long way in the last year or so. When they first hit the market they were big, bulky and iffy in terms of connection quality. HP's latest is small, sleek and incredibly capable.
The Wireless TV Connect can stream 1080p content with 7.1 surround sound from your PC to your television. Even more impressive, it can sent 3D signals too. Setup is nice and easy - plug in the USB dongle to your source and plug the receiver into your TV. Done and done.
HP says you'll get 25 to 30 feet of range out of the Wireless TV Connect and absolutely no lag between your source and the image on screen, making it usable for gaming.
The Wireless TV Connect launches next month at a price of $179.

HP's 3D ENVY Laptop is Available Now
Thu Oct 28, 2010 at 12:00 PM ETTags: HP, 3D (all tags)
The appropriately named laptop can be purchased now, directly from HP.
The latest laptop from HP is full of all the things that make a laptop great. It comes stock with six gigs of RAM, boasts an i7 quad-core processor, an ATI Radeon 5850 graphics card and 500GB of hard drive space. That's before you start adding any of the fancy stuff.
What sets it apart – and makes it worthy of mention on our site – is that the ENVY is capable of playing back your 3D Blu-rays. It sports a BD Rom drive, a 17.3 inch Ultra BrightView Infinity LED backlit display with a 1080p resolution and of course the appropriate playback software.
The HP ENVY 17 3D comes with a pair of HP's own active shutter glasses, so there's no need to shop for accessories. It's even got a battery life of up to 2.5 hours, so you can get through a movie and still have time to surf the net afterwards.
HP's ENVY 17 3D is available now directly from HP with pricing starting at $1,599.99.

Wireless TV Connect From HP Now Available
Thu Oct 28, 2010 at 10:00 AM ETTags: HP, Wireless HD (all tags)
The device lets you send 1080p from any HDMI output to your TV without wires.
We've seen a lot of these PC to TV devices hit in the last few months, all claiming to be the best solution for getting HD video from your computer to your television. Most use a USB port, but the Wireless TV Connect pulls video straight from the HDMI output.
The advantage to getting video from HDMI rather than USB is that you're not limited to your laptop. You can send 1080p video wirelessly from any device with an HDMI output. Want to play your Xbox 360 in the next room over? No problem.
The Wireless TV Connect has a 1ms response time which should be unnoticeable for almost all applications. It sends 1080p video and 7.1 channel surround sound.
HP's Wireless TV Connect is available now at a price of $199.

HP Joins the Wireless HD Streaming Game
Thu Sep 02, 2010 at 02:00 PM ETTags: HP, Wireless HD (all tags)
HP Wireless TV Connect gets 1080p from your computer to your TV with less than a millisecond of latency.
If you keep your digital media on your laptop or netbook, you've got plenty of solutions for getting that content onto your television. The latest is a device from Hewlett Packard and it's pretty impressive, if a bit bulky.
Wireless TV Connect isn't the first device we've seen with capabilities like this. It can stream 1080p video from your laptop to your computer with less than a millisecond of latency. It doesn't require too much in the way of power either – just one USB cable needs to be attached to channel the electro-juice!
HP boasts 1080p video, but doesn't specify just what kind of audio can be sent through Wireless TV Connect. Hopefully we'll find out a few more details before the device launches this October at a price of $199.
