'Prince & Me' Double Header Coming to Blu-ray

First Look Studios has announced a late-October release for the direct-to-video premiere sequels to the teen romance 'The Prince & Me.'
Originally released by Paramount Pictures in 2004, 'The Prince & Me' was only a modest hit at the box office, but the film subsequently developed a modest cult following on video.
Two direct-to-video sequels have followed, first with 'The Prince & Me 2: Royal Wedding' in 2006, and due later this year, 'The Prince & Me 3: A Royal Honeymoon.'
First Look will debut both sequels on Blu-ray as stand-alone releases on October 28, with 'Prince & Me 3' due day-and-date with the standard DVD.
There are no tech specs yet, and First Look has not announced any bonus features for either title.
Suggested retail price for 'Prince & Me 2' is a bargain-priced $19.98, with 'Prince & Me 3' listing for $34.98.

Raw Feed Bringing Double Dose of 'Rest Stop' to Blu-ray

Raw Feed and Warner Premiere have announced the next-gen arrival of the direct-to-video horror flick 'Rest Stop' and its sequel, both of which make their Blu-ray debuts in time for Halloween.
Due in stores October 7, Warner will premiere both 'Rest Stop' (which first hit standard DVD last year) and its upcoming sequel 'Rest Stop: Don't Look Back' (the latter of which will hit retail day-and-date).
Both titles will be presented in their gruesome uncut forms across BD-25 single-layer discs, in 1080p/VC-1 video and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround audio.
Extras on 'Rest Stop' include a pair of featurettes ("On the Bus," "Scotty's Blogg Expose"), a trio of alternate endings and the original trailer.
'Rest Stop: Don't Look Back' features filmmaker audio commentary, deleted scenes and an alternate ending.
Suggested list price for each release has been set at $28.99.

Direct-to-Video 'Another Cinderella Story' Headed to Blu-ray

Warner has announced the debut of their latest direct-video premiere title, with the September release of the teen romance 'Another Cinderella Story.'
Starring up-and-coming tween sensations Drew Seeley and Selena Gomez, the sequel to the hit 'A Cinerella Story' will arrive on Blu-ray September 16, day-and-date with the DVD.
Extras shared across both versions include five featurettes ("Spotlight on Selena Gomez," "Spotlight on Drew Seeley," "Diva Dominique," "Tami's Fantastic Fashion," "Mary: Dancing Ever After"), a "Just That Girl" music video, and a sing-along feature.
Tech specs include 1080p/VC-1 video and standard Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround audio in English, French and Spanish.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray has been set at $38.95.

Direct-to-Video 'Scorpion King 2' Headed to Blu-ray

Universal will debut their first direct-to-video Blu-ray premiere this August, with the release of the action prequel 'The Scorpion King 2.'
Detailing events that take place before the original film, 'The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior' sees TV star Michael Copon taking over the title role from Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in what Universal has said is its highest-budgeted direct-to-video production yet.
The studio will premiere 'Scorpion King 2' on Blu-ray August 19, day-and-date with the DVD. (It follows the Blu-ray debut of the original 'The Scorpion King,' which Universal previously announced for a July 22 release.)
There are no tech specs yet for the Blu-ray, but extras shared with the standard DVD are expected to include six featurettes ("The Making of The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior," "Fighting Like an Akkadian," "Becoming Sargon," "Beauty and Brawn," "Creating a Whole New World," "The Visual Effects of The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior"), deleted scenes and a gag reel.
Universal has set a suggested list price of $39.98 for the Blu-ray.

Echo Bridge Announces Next Wave of Low-Priced Blu-rays

Echo Bridge has unveiled its latest wave of bargain-priced Blu-ray releases, with a trio of video premiere horror and comedy titles due in late July.
Due for release on July 29, the diverse mix of direct-to-video feature films includes the horror yarns 'Salvage' and the Tobe Hooper-directed 'Mortuary,' plus the little-seen indie comedy 'The Big White,' which stars Woody Harrelson, Holly Hunter, and Robin Williams.
Like Echo Bridge's first wave of affordable Blu-ray titles (which the company released this past April), each title will carry a suggested retail of only $14.95.
The company has not announced any tech or supplement details for its July line-up, but expect similar specs to past releases, which featured 1080i/MPEG-2 video and Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 Surround tracks.

July Blu-ray Date Set for 'Get Smart' Spin-Off

Warner Premiere has set an early-July Blu-ray debut for the 'Get Smart' direct-to-video spin-off 'Bruce and Lloyd Out of Control.'
Due in theaters June 20, 'Get Smart' stars Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway in a big-budget update of the famous Maxwell Smart spy series of the '60s.
In an precedent-setting marketing move, Warner earlier this year announced they would be debuting a direct-to-video spin-off film, 'Get Smart's Bruce and Lloyd Out of Control,' on DVD July 1 as a tie-in with its big-screen cousin.
Now the studio has announced a Blu-ray version for the same date, which will see 'Get Smart' stars Masi Oka of ('Heroes' fame) and Nate Torrance, in their own misadventure as two techies at the CONTROL organization who get mixed up in further spy complications.
Warner has not yet announced any tech specs or supplement details for the Blu-ray, but we'll keep you posted.
Suggested list price has been set at $35.99.

Raw Feed and Warner Premiere have just announced a June Blu-ray debut for their latest direct-to-video horror opus, 'Otis: Uncut.'
Starring Daniel Stern, Kevin Pollack ,and Illeana Douglas, 'Otis: Uncut' is a chilling black comedy that chronicles an all-American family’s collision with the dark world of a serial killer.
Warner Premiere will debut 'Otis' in unrated form on Blu-ray June 10, day-and-date with the standard DVD. (As 'Otis' arrives after the studio's May 30 HD DVD transition cut-off, there will be no HD DVD version released.)
Extras shared across both versions include an audio commentary by director Tony Krantz and screenwriter Erik Jendresen, the "Twisted World of Otis" featurette, an alternate ending, and "Suite 16," aka "the home movie of Otis’ fantasies made by Otis himself."
Tech specs include 1080p video and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround and subtitle tracks in English and Spanish.
Warner has set the suggested retail price for the Blu-ray edition at $28.95.

Warner Premiere has announced a July Blu-ray arrival for its latest direct-to-high-def release, the DC Comics animated anthology, 'Batman: Gotham Knight.'
Featuring the voice of big-screen Batman (Christian Bale), 'Gotham Knight' combines segments written and directed by several different production teams, including the filmmakers behind the live-action 'Batman Begins' and 'Batman: The Animated Series.'
The second next-gen release from Warner Premiere and DC (following 'Justice League: The Final Frontier,' hitting Blu-ray this week), 'Gotham Knight' is due July 8, day-and-date with the standard DVD.
There were no tech specs available at press time, but bonus features are set to include the documentary "A Mirror for the Bat: The Evil Denizens of Gotham City," the "Batman and Me a Devotion of Destiny: The Bob Kane Story" featurette, a pair of bonus episodes from 'Batman: The Animated Series' (personally selected by 'Gotham Knight' director Bruce Timm), and a special sneak peek at the upcoming DC Comics/Warner Premiere animated movie, 'Wonder Woman.'
Warner has set a suggested retail price for the Blu-ray of $34.98.

Warner Premiere and Raw Feed will debut their first next-gen title this Spring, with the release of 'Sublime' on Blu-ray and HD DVD.
A dark, twisted tale of terror starring Tom Cavanaugh as an unwitting patient trapped in the mysterious Mt. Abaddon Hospital, 'Sublime' will hit Blu-ray in an unrated cut on April 22 (day-and-date with the standard DVD), followed three weeks later by an HD DVD version on May 13.
Bonus features shared across all versions include an audio commentary by director Tony Krantz and screenwriter Erik Jendresen, two making-of featurettes ( "Surgical Exorcism," "The Shebeen Josie"), and the music video "Have No Fear" by Bird York
Tech specs have not yet been announced, but we'll keep you posted.
Suggested retail for the Blu-ray and HD DVD has been set at $28.99 a peice.

Warner Premiere and DC Comics will debut their first next-gen title this February, with the release of 'Justice League: The New Frontier' on Blu-ray and HD DVD.
Featuring the voices of Neil Patrick Harris, David Boreanaz and Brooke Shields, the direct-to-video 'Justice League: The New Frontier' brings together Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman and a host of other DC Comics heroes in a tale that the explores the origins of legendary superteam. Marking the first high-definition release from DC Comics, Warner Premiere will debut 'The New Frontier' on Blu-ray and HD DVD day-and-date with the standard DVD on February 26, 2008.
All versions will share an extensive array of supplemental features, including two audio commentaries with the filmmakers (participants TBA), the documentaries "The Legion of Doom: The Pathology of the Super Villain" and "Comic Book Commentary: Homage to the New Frontier," a "Super Heroes United!: The Complete Justice League History," a special sneak peek at the upcoming "Batman: Gotham Knight" direct-to-video premiere, and three bonus episodes of the 'Justice League Unlimited' series ("Dark Heart," "To Another Shore" and "Task Force X").
Tech specs announced thus far for the next-gen versions include 1080p video and audio in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround. However, Warner has not confirmed final audio configurations, so we'll keep you posted if they add any high-res formats to the mix.
Suggested retail for the Blu-ray and HD DVD is $34.95 a pop.
