AMC Announces Price Increase for Stubs A-List Subscriptions in Select States[teaser]A modest price increase is coming to new members in select markets next year.[/teaser] AMC has announced several updates for its Stubs A-List movie ticket service. In addition to reaffirming its commitment to the 3-tickets per week subscription plan and celebrating more than 500,000 enrolled members, the company revealed new upcoming features along with details on a slight price increase for select states. Though AMC is planning to maintain its $19.95 per month pricing for 35 states, the monthly rate will increase to $21.95 for new members in Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington state and The District of Columbia on January 9, 2019. Likewise, the price will increase to $23.95 for new members in California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and New York starting January 9, 2019. With that said, current members in these states and any new users who sign up before January 9 in these states will continue to enjoy a one-year price guarantee from the start of their membership at the current $19.95 rate. With the AMC Stubs A-List Plan, users can receive up to three movie tickets per week for any available showtime at any US AMC location in virtually any format, including IMAX, Dolby Cinema, RealD 3D, Prime, and BigD. Tickets can be reserved ahead of time through the use of a virtual card via AMCTheatres.com or the AMC Theatres app. Likewise, customers can opt to buy their tickets at the actual AMC location as well by showing their virtual card at the box office or a ticketing kiosk. The three ticket cap resets every Friday morning with no carryovers or blackouts, and subscribers can even use all three ticket slots on the same day with a two-hour gap in between each showtime. In addition, the service can be used to see the same movie multiple times. With that said, the plan is for one person and can't be used to reserve tickets for anyone else. Meanwhile, outside of the three ticket per week allotment, the service also offers all of the existing benefits of an AMC Stubs Premiere membership. This includes free upgrades on popcorn and soda, free refills on large popcorn, express service at the box office and concession stand, no online ticketing fees, and a points reward system. And beyond those previously existing features, AMC has now added support for using a common credit card as the payment method for separate A-List accounts within the same household. Likewise, the minimum age for Stubs A-List memberships has been lowered from 18 to 16. Furthermore, the company is planning to roll out reserved seating in all AMC-branded theatres and AMC DINE-IN theatres by June 2019. Finally, mobile ordering support for food and drinks will also be added for AMC-branded theatres in Boston, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, San Diego, and San Francisco by June 2019 as well. "In our minds, increasing enrollments to 17 million AMC Stubs member households over the past 2 1/2 years, or achieving initial enrollments of a half million members in AMC Stubs A-List in just 4 1/2 months, are astounding numbers," said Adam Aron, AMC CEO and President. "We have immensely successful programs here, and there should be no doubt, AMC Stubs and AMC Stubs A-List are here to stay with these programs’ structures and valuable benefits remaining fully intact. Our objective for these programs is that they continue to be both popular and profitable. Our decision to keep the AMC Stubs A-List monthly price unchanged in 35 states, along with only a modest price adjustment in some key markets going in place in early 2019, will keep us in that sweet spot of successfully balancing profits and popularity. We encourage current A-List members to tell their friends and families that our 12-month price and benefit guarantee remains fully in place for A-List members who have already joined or who do so prior to January 9, 2019. So, the program pricing of $19.95 will remain at that level for everyone and will be unchanged anywhere for a full 12 months after initial enrollment if moviegoers act now to become A-Listers.” Source: AMC via BusinessWirePosted Mon Nov 5, 2018 at 06:15 PM PST by: -

The show is based on the fantasy series of novels and video games from Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski. "Andrzej Sapkowski has created a rich and memorable world, at once magical and familiar," said Erik Barmack, Netflix Vice President, international series. "We couldn’t be more excited about bringing The Witcher saga to Netflix members around the world." Check out the first look clip below! Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together. Lauren Schmidt Hissrich (Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s The Defenders, Umbrella Academy) will serve as showrunner and executive producer for the eight-episode series. Meanwhile, Alik Sakharov (House of Cards, Game of Thrones), Alex Garcia Lopez (Marvel’s Luke Cage, Utopia), and Charlotte Brändström (Outlander, Counterpart, Disparue) are all on board as directors. Henry Cavill is best known for playing Clark Kent / Superman in Warner Brothers' Man of Steel, Batman v. Superman, and Justice League. In addition, the actor recently starred opposite Tom Cruise in Paramount's Mission: Impossible - Fallout. Production for that film led to an unexpected and rather absurd conflict, now playfully known as "Mustache-Gate," when the actor's facial hair became a problem for Justice League reshoots. An exact release date for The Witcher has not been announced yet, but the show is set to debut in 2019. A current Netflix subscription starts at $11 per month for HD streaming and $14 per month for Ultra HD streaming. Source: Netflix (Twitter)Posted Wed Oct 31, 2018 at 12:00 PM PDT by:
