It was inevitable that Disney’s newest smash hit would of course get a SteelBook edition on Blu-ray and Ultra HD. Even so, this one came up awfully fast. Also, collectors who may have missed some of Marvel’s past SteelBooks get another chance.
Ralph Breaks the Internet
Video Formats: Blu-ray/UHD
Available at: Best Buy (ORDER HERE)
Release date: TBD
Price: $34.99
I get that the writers are trying to reference that dumb Kim Kardashian “breaking the internet” quote from a few years ago, but wouldn’t Ralph Wrecks the Internet have been a better title for this sequel, tying it back to the original film? At the very least, how about Wreck-It Ralph Breaks the Internet? No?
Anyway, the SteelBook art is cute. I approve. The Best Buy copy gets 4k. I assume that a 3D version of this will probably turn up at Zavvi later on.
Next we have a couple of Marvel reissues. Both of these movies already had SteelBook editions when they first hit Blu-ray and Ultra HD, but Marvel SteelBooks usually sell out quickly and they’re both long out of print now.
The new versions arguably look better than the prior ones (which you can refresh your memory of here and here). Just keep in mind that, according to the product listings, these are lenticular covers. That isn’t evident in the mock-up images. Personally, I’ll take lenticular SteelBook art if it’s all that’s available, but I’d rather have a normal flat case.

I still hold out hope that a new SteelBook for the original Thor will come around. That’s the only MCU movie I don’t have in metal case form. Perhaps that will happen if it gets remastered for 4k HDR.

But if u acquire it, then you would have climbed Everest and you’ll weep, for there are no more greater summits. Hunting for my Steelbooks were/are thrilling, but now afterwards, there’s so much heavy sh*t weighing down my shelves. Maybe that’s the next hunt, steel shelving?

I’d rather see the first Guardians get a new Steelbook. I never saw it anywhere. Maybe if it gets a 4K release.
