Fans will have to wait a couple more weeks than originally anticipated for the dual-format release of 'Queen Rock Montreal & Live Aid,' but recently-released specs reveal an array of previously-unannounced extras.

As we first reported back in August, the next-gen debut of 'Queen Rock Montreal & Live Aid' had been expected to arrive on Blu-ray and HD DVD on November 20 (three weeks after a new two-disc DVD re-issue). But due to what indie distributor Eagle Vision is calling "production delays," both high-def versions have now been pushed back an additional two weeks to December 4.

There is a silver lining for fans of the legendary rock band, however, as Eagle Vision has confirmed an extensive supplemental package for the upcoming release. In addition to featuring newly remastered versions of the band's full Montreal concert and their seven-song 1985 Live Aid performance, both next-gen releases will also include a first-ever audio commentary by Brian May and Roger Taylor, newly-unearthed performance footage of Queen rehearsing for Live Aid, a previously unreleased band interview, additional media coverage of the event, and a "Before & After" restoration comparison .

Full audio and video remain TBA, but we'll keep you posted.

In the meantime, you'll find the latest disc details for 'Queen Rock Montreal' linked from our Blu-ray Release Schedule and HD DVD Release Schedule, where it is indexed under its new date of December 4.

We've also set up dedicated threads for the concert classic in our Forums area -- click the following links to discuss the 'Queen Rock Montreal' Blu-ray release and the 'Queen Rock Montreal' HD DVD release.

Eagle Vision has announced a street date delay for a trio of new concert discs originally set to debut on HD DVD next week, including releases by music legends Deep Purple, Yes and Carlos Santana.

Originally announced by Eagle Vision for HD DVD release on June 26, 'Yes: Live at Montreux,' 'Deep Purple: They All Came Down to Montreux' and 'Santana: Hymns for Peace - Live at Montreux.' will now all debut nearly a month later, on July 24.

Eagle Vision has not offered a reason for the delay, but tech specs and supplemental details remain intact for all three releases.

Retail price will also hold firm at $24.95 apiece.

We've updated the listings for all three of Eagle Vision's 'Live at Montreux' music titles to our HD DVD Release Schedule, where they now reside under July 24. We'll keep you posted on any further date changes for the titles, and watch for full reviews of all three in the coming weeks.

A trio of new concert discs from music legends Deep Purple, Yes and Carlos Santana, all recorded live at the Montreux Rock Festival, highlight Eagle Vision's summer line-up of HD DVD releases.

Three titles are all set to debut on June 26: 'Yes: Live at Montreux,' 'Deep Purple: They All Came Down to Montreux' and 'Santana: Hymns for Peace - Live at Montreux.'

Of the three, only the Yes disc is devoid of extras. The Deep Purple release will include a complete ten-song mini-concert recorded live at the Hard Rock London, plus a band interview. Santana's 'Hymns for Peace' will also feature three bonus tracks, behind-the-scenes footage, and an interview with the guitar god.

No tech specs are yet available, but stay tuned.

Note that there was no mention at presstime of any companion Blu-ray release, but Eagle Vision's two most recent high-def music titles, 'Toto: Live in Amsterdam' and 'Alice Cooper: Live at Montreux' saw simultaneous release on both next-gen formats, so there's a good chance these three titles will also make it to Blu-ray.

The distributor has set a $24.95 list price for each title in its Montreux triple-header.

We've added new listings for Eagle Vision's latest to our HD DVD Release Schedule, under June 26.

Few would call the music of Alice Cooper "quiet," but that's just how the shock rocker's first-ever high-def concert film hit stores this week, with Eagle Rock Entertainment's Blu-ray release creeping into stores this past Tuesday.

With little fanfare -- in fact, we never even got a press release -- 'Alice Cooper: Live in Montreux 2005' hit stores on Halloween.

Priced at $24.99, specs include a 1.78:1 widescreen 1080p video transfer and three audio options: Dolby Digital, DTS and uncompressed PCM 5.1 surround tracks. There seems to be no supplements on the release, however.

Despite the late details on 'Live in Montreux,' we hope to have a full review for you soon, and will also keep you posted on upcoming Eagle Rock releases. We just hope future announcements are a bit more high profile.

We've also added a complete listing for the title to our Blu-ray Release Schedule.

Beating Paramount's 'Mission: Impossible III' to the punch, Eagle Rock Entertainment will orchestrate the industry's first "trifecta" cross-format release this Fall.

When the 2005 concert film 'The Pat Metheny Group: The Way Up' hits stores on October 3, it will bow simultaneously on Blu-ray, HD DVD and DVD -- a good four weeks before Paramount mounts a similar multi-format bow for 'Mission: Impossible III.'

Though technical details for the HD DVD and Blu-ray editions of 'The Way Up' are not yet available, extras will be identical on both versions including a making-of featurette and artist biographies.

Retail for both the Blu-ray and HD DVD will be $24.98 each.

The latest details for both versions have been added to our HD DVD Release Schedule and Blu-ray Release Schedule. Stay tuned for final specs as soon as they are officially announced.
