'The Blues Brothers' & 'National Lampoon's Animal House' Blu-rays Announced

John Belushi will put on a toga and send Blu-ray on a mission from God this summer!
In an early announcement to retailers, Universal has finally dated the long-awaited classic comedies 'The Blues Brothers' and 'National Lampoon's Animal House' are planned for Blu-ray on July 26.
Each Blu-ray will feature 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements for 'The Blues Brothers' will include: Stories Behind the Making of The Blues Brothers: Go behind the scenes with Director John Landis, Dan Aykroyd and the Blues Brothers band; Transposing the Music: Highlights of the many spin-offs, tributes and merchandising developments, as well as stage shows, impersonators and pop culture inspired by the film; Remembering John: Friends, family and co-stars share their personal stories about the late great comedian; and Theatrical Trailer.
'Animal House' will include: U-Control Scene Companion: Watch cast and crew interviews during key scenes with this picture-in-picture companion; U-Control, The Music of Animal House: Instantly identify the songs heard while watching the film, create a custom playlist of your favorites and even purchase songs from iTunes; The Yearbook, An Animal House Reunion: An original documentary featuring interviews with key members of the cast and crew, as well as behind-the-scenes footage and clips with John Belushi; Where Are They Now? A Delta Alumni Update: A mockumentary featuring the original cast; Scene It? Animal House: Relive all your favorite moments from your favorite fraternity through movie clips, trivia questions and an array of on-screen puzzlers with two interactive games; and a theatrical trailer.
Suggested list price for each Blu-ray is $26.98.

'The Company Men' Blu-ray Announced

The world of corporate downsizing will be exposed in high-definition this June.
In an early announcement to retailers, Starz/Anchor Bay is preparing 'The Company Men' for Blu-ray on June 7.
The drama stars Ben Affleck, Kevin Costner, Chris Cooper, and Tommy Lee Jones in his Satellite Award-nominated role for Best Supporting Actor.
Specs have yet to be revealed, but supplements will include an audio commentary with writer/director John Wells, a making-of featurette, and deleted scenes.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $39.99.

'Diabolique' Announced For Blu-ray

Henri‑Georges Clouzot's 1954 French thriller is bound for Blu-ray mid-May.
The Criterion Collection has announced 'Diabolique' for a Blu-ray release on May 17.
Before 'Psycho,' 'Peeping Tom,' and 'Repulsion,' there was 'Diabolique', a heart-grabbing benchmark in horror filmmaking, featuring outstanding performances by Simone Signoret, Vera Clouzot, and Paul Meurisse.
The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video, a uncompressed monaural soundtrack, and supplements include: Selected-scene commentary by French-film scholar Kelley Conway; New video interview with Serge Bromberg, codirector of Henri-Georges Clouzot’s Inferno; New video interview with horror film expert Kim Newman; New and improved English subtitle translation; and a booklet featuring a new essay by film critic Terrence Rafferty.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $39.95.

'Skyline' Blu-ray Detailed

As previously reported, Universal has slated 'Skyline' for Blu-ray on March 22.
It was supposed to be a simple birthday weekend in Southern California. But when sunrise arrives two hours early in the form of a haunting light from an unknown source, a group of friends watch in terror as people across the city are drawn outside and swept into massive alien ships that have blotted out the L.A. skyline. From tankers to drones and hydra-like extraterrestrials, the aliens are inescapable and seemingly indestructible. Now, it will take every survival instinct the group has to elude capture in this riveting, action-packed sci-fi adventure starring Eric Balfour ('The Texas Chainsaw Massacre'), Donald Faison ("Scrubs") and Scottie Thompson ('Star Trek').
The Blu-ray will feature 1080p, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements will include: Commentary by directors Greg and Colin Strause; Commentary with co-writer/producer Liam O'Donnell and co-writer Joshua Cordes; Deleted, Extended, and Alternate Scenes; Pre-viz clips; and Trailers.

Time is running out in this direct-to-video psychological thriller coming to high-definition in the new year.
In an early announcement to retailers, Sony says 'Ticking Clock' is coming to Blu-ray on January 4.

As previously reported, FUNimation will be releasing 'Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl' for a high-definition release stateside on October 19.
The outrageous Asian action/horror/comedy is from the deranged genius behind 'Tokyo Gore Police.'
Specs still have yet to be revealed, but supplements include Opening day stage greetings, making of video, original Japanese trailer, and trailers.

'Wolverine and the X-Men: The Complete Series' Blu-ray Detailed

The Blu-ray release containing all 26 episodes of the hit animated series planned for an October release has been detailed.
As previously reported, Lionsgate is preparing to bring 'Wolverine and the X-Men: The Complete Series' to Blu-ray on October 12.
With 45 years of best selling comic books, a massive fan base spanning all ages, and four feature films grossing over one billion dollars at the box office, the franchise is a proven phenomenon. The Wolverine and the X-Men DVD volumes 1-6 have already sold more than 550,000 copies to date. Though the animated series is targeted to boys from ages 6-11, it also appeals to comic book fans of all ages with its intelligent writing and unique animation style. In addition, the releases will be promoted on Marvel.com and MarvelKids.com.
The Blu-ray will be a three disc set presented in 1080p video, audio specs are still unconfirmed, and the release will include commentaries and two unique featurettes.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray set is $44.99.

Warner Brothers/New Line Cinema has revealed Brett Ratner's 'Rush Hour' will be heading to Blu-ray on December 7.
The third film in the trilogy has already been released on Blu-ray, but there's no word on when the second movie will hit the format.

The 'MacGyver' spoof dismantling high-definition this September has been fully detailed.
As previously reported, Universal Studios is preparing 'MacGruber' for Blu-ray on September 7.
The film is a spinoff of Will Forte's 'Saturday Night Live' sketches and also stars Ryan Philippe, Powers Booth, and Val Kilmer.
The Blu-ray will include both the theatrical and unrated versions of the film with 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements will include feature commentary, deleted scene, and gag reel, as well as Blu-ray exclusive Pocket BLU, My Scenes, and BD-Live.
