Sony Adds PlayStation Vue Support to Amazon Fire TV & Fire TV Stick[teaser]The cloud-based TV service is now available on more devices. [/teaser] Sony has announced the expansion of its PlayStation Vue internet TV service to the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick. In addition, the platform will also be available through the Google Chromecast later this year. "Adding PlayStation Vue to these popular streaming devices is a great way to extend our pioneering cloud-based TV service to other TVs in the household and to reach new consumers who don't own PlayStation consoles," said Dan Myers, head of product for PlayStation Vue. "With the holiday season around the corner, now is the ideal time for us to expand PlayStation Vue access, as many consumers will be purchasing or receiving these media devices as gifts." PlayStation Vue offers live and on-demand content from more than other 85 channels, including popular stations from CBS, FOX, NBCUniversal, Viacom, Turner, Discovery Communications, Scripps Networks Interactive, and AMC. Likewise, the service will soon be adding Disney/ESPN channels as well. The platform enables viewers to easily search through available programming with an intuitive interface and convenient personal recommendations. In addition, if customers tag a favorite series they will be given cloud access to episodes of that show for 28 days with no storage restrictions. Starting November 15, new users who sign up for a free trial of the PlayStation Vue Core or Elite packages will receive a free Amazon Fire TV Stick with their first month paid subscription. In addition to the new Fire TV and Fire TV Stick support, PlayStation Vue is currently available through the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, iPad, and iPhone in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, San Francisco, and Miami TV markets.
