Have you been holding back from purchasing Criterion Collection Blu-rays and DVDs in anticipation of Barnes & Noble’s semi-annual Criterion sale? I sure have. Well, now is the time to start stocking up. The B&N 50% Off sale begins today. Which titles will you pick up?
The last big Barnes & Noble sale ended August 1st. Since that time, Criterion has issued the following titles on Blu-ray:

- ‘Carlos‘
- ‘The Complete Jean Vigo‘
- ‘Les Cousins‘
- ‘Cul-de-sac‘
- ‘Dazed and Confused‘
- ‘The Four Feathers‘
- ‘Harakiri‘
- ‘Identification of a Woman‘
- ‘If…‘
- ‘Island of Lost Souls‘
- ‘The Killing‘
- ‘Kuroneko‘
- ‘My Life as a Dog‘
- ‘Orpheus‘
- ‘The Phantom Carriage‘

The sale ends November 21st. Preorders on titles released through that date will also qualify for the sale. These would include:
Of course, the Collection also has more than 100 previously released titles that might be worth sorting through as well.
AAA members should be able to get an additional 10% discount (on top of the 50% off) by shopping through this link.
The sale starts today both in brick & mortar stores or online at barnesandnoble.com.
I’m definitely down for ‘Cul-de-sac’, ‘The Killing’ and ‘The Rules of the Game’. What will you buy?

AuthorNuts. You’re right, I had my dates mixed up. That’s a major bummer.

I can’t believe Au Revoir Les Enfants is actually on sale – B&N has never put that title on sale before! Got to check finances, but it looks very possible that I may be picking up my first Criterion title!

I shouldn’t have spent the money, but this afternoon at a brick-and-mortar Barnes & Noble (a b&m B&N) I bought the three must-own Criterions that I’ve been behind on: Diabolique, The Great Dictator, and Beauty and the Beast. I’ll watch Diabolique first, since I’m still doing Halloweek and consider that film prime Halloween viewing. Maybe I’ll watch Beauty and the Beast next, since the Beast and his castle are fairly Halloweenish too.
