Tim Burton's 'Big Eyes' Bound for Blu-ray[teaser]The film based on a true story is headed for Blu-ray in April. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Starz/Anchor Bay will be releasing 'Big Eyes' on Blu-ray on April 14. DirecTV Reportedly Restores HD Channels after Technical Issues[teaser]Several previously lost HD channels have reportedly been restored. [/teaser] Early this morning, DirecTV sent out an email to its customers apologizing for the loss of several HD channel signals. In addition, the technical failure also suspended the DirecTV Cinema in HD format. According to a report from TV Predictions, the issue resulted in the loss of about 40 HD channels, including MSNBC, The Weather Channel, Turner Classic Movies, the Cooking Channel, Nat Geo, and TV Land. The signal failure is likely attributable to technical issues related to the company's 103 satellite which was responsible for broadcasting the missing stations. The outages began on Thursday afternoon, but as of 7:30 am EST this morning, HD service has reportedly been restored to most customers and channels. DirecTV has yet to officially confirm that the problem has been solved. If the error persists, DirecTV recommends that users switch to the SD alternatives for the missing channels while they work out their technical issues. 'Grantchester: Season One' Dated for Blu-ray[teaser]The mystery series starring James Norton and Robson Green is bound for Blu-ray in April. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, PBS will be releasing 'Grantchester: Season One' on Blu-ray on April 7. It all begins with a sad but predictable suicide. Lawyer Stephen Staunton in nearby Cambridge has been drinking heavily and is deeply in debt. Late one night, he turns his old service revolver on himself, leaving behind a blood-spattered suicide note and a grieving widow. It's an open-and-shut case, according to Geordie, who is the overworked police inspector in charge of the investigation. But people confide things in a parish priest that they never tell police - which is how Sidney comes to suspect murder. His first hurdle is to convince Geordie that there's more to Staunton's death than meets the eye. Fortunately, the cleric and the cop bond over their war service, their love of a good pub, and their competitive instincts - in this case, for backgammon. It's the start of a beautiful friendship that takes Sidney and Geordie through a series of challenging cases, revealing the dark side of early 1950s England - jealousy, prejudice, class conflict, and plain old passion. The last emotion is not exactly unknown to Sidney, who is an unusually worldly clergyman. His pursuit of love is as much a part of the story as his tireless search for justice, spiritual fulfillment, and a really hip jazz club. Specs and supplements haven't been revealed yet, but the suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $39.99. You can find the latest specs for 'Grantchester: Season One' linked from our Blu-ray Release Schedule, where it is indexed under April 7. Order the Blu-rayPosted Fri Feb 20, 2015 at 06:00 AM PST by:
