Netflix Announces 'Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later'[teaser]The cult comedy will return to Netflix next year. Make it your beeswax to be there! [/teaser] Netflix has announced its latest original series. 'Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later' will serve as a sequel to the original film and the previously released Netflix series 'Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp.' Finally, fans can see what happens to their favorite campers and counselors ten years after the original film in a new Netflix original series 'Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later.' The series will include eight all new 30 minute episodes and is set to premiere in 2017. The series will be written by Michael Showalter and David Wain and Wain will direct. Executive Producers for 'Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later' are Michael Showalter, David Wain, Peter Principato, Jonathan Stern and Howard Bernstein. Sony Readies HDR Support for VPL-VW365ES 4K Ultra HD Home Theater Projector[teaser]The VPL-VW365ES will soon gain high dynamic range support. [/teaser] Sony has announced plans to add HDR (high dynamic range) support to its VPL-VW365ES 4K Ultra HD Home Theater Projector. The update will be available through a firmware upgrade set for release in May. Sony's 4K SXRD imaging technology and HDR support continues to be the state-of-the-art in home theater projection." The VPL-VW365ES is a native 4K projector with an SXRD panel, Sony’s proprietary TRILUMINOs engine, Motionflow picture technology, and a built-in RF 3D transmitter. Likewise, the projector includes HDMI connectivity with HDCP 2.2 compliancy and a long-lasting lamp for up to 6,000 hours of performance. In addition, upcoming HDR support will allow the projector to display supported high dynamic range content, offering superior contrast, highlights, and shadows. The VPL-VW365ES will now be the third Sony 4K projector with HDR support, following the VPL-VW665ES and VPL-VW5000ES. Criterion & Turner Classic Movies Prep FilmStruck Streaming Service[teaser]The upcoming streaming platform is geared toward film buffs. [/teaser] The Criterion Collection and Turner Classic Movies have announced plans to launch their own subscription streaming service. Dubbed FilmStruck, the ad-free platform will focus on independent, art-house, international, and contemporary cinema. "At Turner, we are dedicated to engaging fans wherever they are, and we're investing aggressively in content, new capabilities and new businesses to achieve that goal," said John Martin, chairman and CEO of Turner. "FilmStruck is a terrific example of our strategy to meet consumer demand for great content across all screens. It's tailor-made for the diehard movie enthusiasts who craves a deep, intimate experience with independent, foreign, and arthouse films. And it takes advantage of TCM's powerful curation capabilities, as well as its proven track record in building a long-term relationship with passionate film fans." FilmStruck will offer a mix of contemporary and classic arthouse, indie, foreign and cult films from many major studios and independent distributors, including Warner Bros., Janus Films, Flicker Alley and Icarus. Titles will include 'Seven Samurai,' 'A Hard Day’s Night,' 'A Room With A View,' 'Blood Simple,' 'My Life As A Dog,' 'Mad Max,' 'Breaker Morant,' 'The Player,' and more.
