Two alums from the Mouse Academy are still working hard to be taken seriously after graduating with honors. They’ve even gone so far as to “accidentally” release some provocative photos on the internet and earn themselves “Hot” ranks on Maxim. Guess what? It’s not working. Sadly, they’ll both always be remembered as “That kid from that movie or TV show.”

‘Journey 2: The Mysterious Island’

I get what they’re trying to do here. This is meant to be a sequel to ‘Journey to the Center of the Earth‘, but without mega-star Brandon Fraser. Is the same kid (Josh Hutcherson) from both films supposed to seem ignorant of previous events? Maybe it’s just the trailer. Sure, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson showing off what he can do with his pecs gives a chuckle, but for the most part, this looks practically identical to the first one, except with a larger cast. Vanessa Hudgens has a challenge playing dual roles as both the pretty object of desire and the constant damsel in distress. I wonder if she can pull it off.

‘LOL’

Not only does this teen dramedy come with what should be considered the world’s dumbest movie title ever, it also stars Miley Cyrus. A remake of a Belgian comedy, the film sadly comes at the tail end of Cyrus’s already waning popularity. In fact, I would argue that she signaled her own death knell in ‘The Last Song’. Of course, box office returns and the Teen Choice Awards would say otherwise. I’m mostly speaking in terms of being a serious actress. ‘LOL’ (gawd, this title sounds so stupid) only seems to prove what I’m saying. She looks awful, and the movie looks even worse. And Demi Moore needs to stop acting like she’s the cool mom.
