In last week’s poll, we asked you which of the fall’s new TV dramas you plan to watch. This week, let’s take a look at the comedies.
I honestly don’t have too much of a stake in this topic. I watch very few sitcoms regularly. My DVR is programmed for the NBC Thursday line-up, ‘Raising Hope’, ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ and ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’. That’s pretty much it. Oh, and ‘Wilfred’ and ‘Happy Endings’. And I wind up watching most episodes of ‘How I Met Your Mother’. Huh, now that I write this out, it looks like more than I had expected. Maybe I do watch a lot of sitcoms after all.
In any case, of the new shows, I’ve caught bits of ‘Up All Night’ and ‘Free Agents’ while Mrs. Z was watching them. ‘Up All Night’ seems to be the better of the two. I’m not sold on setting either for a series recording, however.
The rest of these shows have almost no interest at all for me. I can’t fathom anything looking more insufferably twee than Zooey Deschanel’s ‘New Girl’. (Sorry, Aaron.)
How about you? Which comedies will you be watching? Vote for as many as you like. If I’ve missed anything notable, check “Other” and tell us in the Comments.
T.J. Kats
Up all night is the only one that looked interesting to me. So far it has been pretty good although Maya rudolphs character is pretty annoying.

Voted New Girl, Suburgatory, and Whitney.
New Girl is touch and go for the moment, I hate the loss of Wayans. I’ll give it 1-2 more episodes.
Pretty much the same thing with Whitney. The pilot wasn’t amazing, but there was enough to keep me around for another week or two.
I have no idea why Suburgatory looked interesting, but something caught my eye to where I’ll at least give the pilot a shot.
We’ve already given up on Up All Night and Free Agents. Shame too because I really like Applegate, Arnett, and Azaria.

I like the loss of the Wayans. Whenever something has one less Wayans brother I call that a win.
Josh Zyber
AuthorDamon Jr. isn’t a Wayans brother. He’s second generation. I think he’s really funny on Happy Endings.
Vince Swallow
I enjoyed him in The Other Guys as well.
Dail Whiteley
i’ve enjoyed up all night. i tried new girl. didnt warm up to it.
William Henley
There should be the option “I’m not interested in any of them”
Josh Zyber
AuthorGood point. I’ve added that as an option.
Aaron Peck
I’ve watched them all. Well, all that have premiered, for a piece that will be posted on the blog later.
For now ‘New Girl’ and ‘Up All Night’ are the best. ‘2 Broke Girls,’ ‘Whitney,’ and ‘Free Agents’ all really, really blow.
Josh Zyber
AuthorWatched Suburgatory last night. Was actually pretty funny. Probably won’t last, though. I have a feeling that a lot of the network’s target audience will find it “elitist” or something.
Aaron Peck
I liked it too. I like when shows figure out a way to subtly bash whatever product placement they have to have. Take that Red Bull.
Vince Swallow
Enjoyed it as well. I hope it sticks around.
Mike Attebery
I have to be honest. I don’t understand the love for ‘New Girl’ at all. I think that show is pathetic.

Josh Zyber
AuthorIt would appear that the results to this poll have been corrupted by spammers working for the star of I Hate My Teenage Daughter. Unfortunately, I don’t have a way of identifying how many votes are actually legitimate.
I have deleted a bunch of spam comments added to this post, and will continue to do so as they come in.
JPS
The votes for IHMTD aren’t from spammers. The link to your poll has been posted on 2 fansites, twitter, facebook and LJ (and even passed on to the Warner Bros PR). These votes are all coming from different fans who do plan on watching the show. We wanted to show our support to the show and the actors…it’s disappointing to see that fan comments have been deleted.
Josh Zyber
AuthorThe comments had the appearance of spam, but if this is just an organized voting effort by fans, I don’t have a problem with that. I’ve reinstated the comments. The vote count remains unaffected. Thanks for the clarification.
