'Body Double' Blu-ray Announced[teaser]Brian De Palma's 1984 erotic crime thriller will have a limited Blu-ray release this summer. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Twilight Time is working on 'Body Double' for Blu-ray on August 13. In 'Body Double,' director Brian DePalma pays homage to the Alfred Hitchcock movies 'Vertigo' and 'Rear Window,' adding a few grotesque touches all his own. Craig Wasson plays Jake, a struggling actor who keeps losing jobs because of his claustrophobia. To make matters worse, his girlfriend has walked out on him, so he has no place to sleep. His pal offers him the use of his apartment for the evening. The apartment happens to be equipped with a huge picture window and telescope, enabling him to spy on his beautiful neighbor Gloria (Deborah Shelton) while she undresses. He also bears witness to her brutal murder. And then he meets a porn star (Melanie Griffith), who has just taken a job posing as the late Gloria. Specs, supplements, and suggested list price have yet to be revealed, but the Blu-ray will be limited to 3000 units. 'The Wizard of Oz: 75th Anniversary Edition' Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D Up for Pre-Order![teaser]The classic 1939 musical starring Judy Garland will be getting a double dip in 2013. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, 'The Wizard of Oz: 75th Anniversary Edition' appears to be coming to Blu-ray in the near future, along with 'The Wizard of Oz - 3D: 75th Anniversary Edition' and 'The Wizard of Oz - 3D: 75th Anniversary Collector's Edition (Amazon Exclusive).' Specs have yet to be revealed, but the releases are expected to include hours of extra content including: Sing-a-long feature with the film; Complete Magic Cloak of Oz silent shorts (60 min); All-new making-of Documentary; The Dreamer of Oz TV Special (101 min); Munchkins at the Hollywood Walk of Fame Featurette (20 min); Patchwork Girl of Oz (60 min); and a 6 hr. MGM Documentary When the Lion Roars (exclusive to Blu-Ray). 'Day of the Dead: Collector's Edition' Blu-ray Announced[teaser]A double dip of George A Romero's 1985 zombie flick is coming in 2013. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Scream Factory says 'Day of the Dead: Collector's Edition' is on its way to Blu-ray later this year. The concluding part of George A. Romero's cult horror trilogy opens with the undead roaming the planet freely. The living have been forced underground, where they make their base in a hidden missile depot, helping with the experiments of scientist Doctor Logan, who hopes to domesticate the zombies. However, the military faction of the human survivors favour a more direct approach, and with food stocks becoming ever more depleted, they decide to take action. What folllows is the final showdown between the forces of the living and the armies of the dead.. Specs, supplements, suggested list price, and a release date have not been set yet. 'Sexy Beast' Blu-ray Dated[teaser]The critically-acclaimed 2000 crime thriller will be getting a limited edition Blu-ray release in August. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Twilight Time is prepping 'Sexy Beast' for Blu-ray on August 13. 'Sexy Beast' is a 2000 Anglo-Spanish crime drama film directed by Jonathan Glazer and starring Ray Winstone, Ben Kingsley and Ian McShane. Produced by Jeremy Thomas, it was Glazer's debut feature film, who had previously directed music videos and commercials for companies such as Guinness and Levi. The film earned Kingsley an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. In 2004 the magazine Total Film named 'Sexy Beast' the 15th greatest British film of all time. Specs, supplements, and suggested list price have yet to be revealed, however the Blu-ray will be limited to 3000 units. 'The Fugitive: 20th Anniversary Edition' Blu-ray Dated[teaser]A 20th Anniversary double dip of Andrew Davis' crime thriller is planned for Blu-ray in September. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Warner Brothers is preparing 'The Fugitive: 20th Anniversary Edition' starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones for Blu-ray on September 3. Unjustly accused and found guilty of murdering his wife (Sela Ward), former Chicago surgeon Dr. Richard Kimble (Ford) escapes from custody and races to uncover the identity of the real killer and the reasons for his wife's death, all while being the target of a nationwide manhunt led by tenacious United States Deputy Marshal Sam Gerard (Jones). Based on the classic 1960s television series of the same name, The Fugitive garnered seven Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, and earned Tommy Lee Jones a Best Supporting Actor Oscar and Golden Globe. In 2001, The American Film Institute also listed it as one of the "100 Most Thrilling" American films.
