'Neil Cowley Trio: Live At Montreux' Blu-ray Available Now![teaser]The jazz musicians' summer 2012 performance is in stores now. [/teaser] Eagle Rock's 'Neil Cowley Trio: Live At Montreux' is now available for purchase on Blu-ray. Making their debut appearance at the Montreux Jazz Festival on July 11, The Neil Cowley Trio are virtuoso musicians. Cowley is a consummate live performer with a distinctively English wit and the ability to create a marvelous rapport with his audience, as ably demonstrated on Live At Montreux 2012. The show focuses primarily on their latest album The Face Of Mount Molehill (recorded & later toured with a string ensemble), with a scattering of tracks from their previous releases. Neil Cowley is a much in demand pianist who cut his teeth on albums by the likes of Brand New Heavies and Zero 7, and more recently played piano on both of Adele's global bestselling albums 19 and 2, making him quite literally, the most listened to pianist on the planet. Defined by powerful riffs countered by poignant, delicate passages and witty, whimsical romps, Cowley's jazz-meets-rock ethic has earned his trio worldwide acclaim, and plaudits from across the musical spectrum. Their debut album Displaced won the 2007 BBC Jazz Award for Best Album and the trio undertook their first UK tour in the same year, going on to perform extensively around the globe, appearing at some of the worlds most prestigious jazz festivals alongside a string of triumphant shows in the US in 2012. Heralded as "strong stirring stuff" by Time Out New York, their most recent recording, The Face of Mount Molehill earned the trio Best UK Jazz Act at the inaugural Jazz Fm Awards. 'Tai Chi Hero' Blu-ray Dated and Detailed[teaser]The steampunk martial arts sequel to 'Tai Chi Zero' will hit Blu-ray in July. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Well Go USA is preparing 'Tai Chi Hero' for Blu-ray on July 2. Lu Chan (Jayden Yuan) is still trying to find his place in Chen Village, the legendary town where everyone is a martial arts master…and Chen-style Tai Chi is forbidden to outsiders. But since he helped save the town from a frightening steam-powered machine, Yuniang (Angelababy), beautiful daughter of Grandmaster Chen (Tony Leung Ka-Fai), agrees to marry Lu Chan and bring him into the family. It’s only a formality, though – she is the teacher, and he is the student – and that suits Lu Chan just fine, as the mutant horn on his head gives him incredible kung-fu power, but leaves him dumber each time, and closer to death. The second in a trilogy from the creators of 'Ip Man' and 'Detective Dee,' and featuring action directed by the legendary Sammo Hung, 'Tai Chi Hero' is a full-on, steampunk-infused, video game-influenced kung fu throwdown that will knock you out of your seat. The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video and a Mandarin DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements will include a Behind-the-Scenes Featurette. Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $29.98.
