Tribeca Shortlist Streaming Service Arrives on Android Devices[teaser]The streaming platform is now available on Android smartphones and tablets. [/teaser] Tribeca and Lionsgate have expanded support for Tribeca Shortlist to Android devices. The service is also available on Roku players (Roku 4, Roku 3, and Roku 2), Roku TV models, the Amazon Fire TV, iPhones, iPads, PC, Mac, and Apple TV. "Releasing our Android app is an important touchstone in our platform expansion plan," said Tribeca Shortlist President, Jeff Bronikowski. "We are excited to empower the large and enthusiastic Android user community to experience the service’s Shortlists and quality film selection on their big screens through Google Cast or on the go by downloading it to their Android mobile devices and tablets." The service features a library of more than 150 critically acclaimed titles that have been personally selected by various industry experts, filmmakers, and actors. These "Shortlister" curators also provide personal insights into their picks to help guide viewers through their recommendations. The collection is refreshed every month with a turnover of about 50 movies, offering films from Lionsgate, Tribeca Enterprises, and other major studios and independent sources. Current titles include 'Amelie,' 'The English Patient,' and 'The Great Escape.' In addition to traditional streaming, the platform also offers an offline viewing and download option for Android and iOS based tablets or phones. Tribeca Shortlist is now available through the Google Play Store. The Android apps also include support for TV streaming from Google Cast devices. The current subscription fee is $5 per month and new customers who sign up for six months of the service for $30 at www.tribecashortlist.com/chromecast can receive a free Chromecast from now through the end of June. Netflix Preps New Series From India Based on the Novel 'Sacred Games'[teaser]The upcoming show will be based on the Indian author Vikram Chandra's novel. [/teaser] Netflix has announced its latest original series. The new Hindi-English show will be based on the novel 'Sacred Games' and is set to shoot in India. "Over the last few years, I've watched with great excitement and pleasure as Netflix has transformed narrative television with its ground-breaking, genre-bending shows," commented Mr. Chandra. "I'm confident that all the colour and vitality and music of the fictional world I've lived with for so long will come fully alive on the large-scale canvas provided by Netflix. Set in Mumbai, 'Sacred Games' delves into the city’s intricate web of organized crime, corruption, politics and espionage that lie beneath India’s economic renaissance. The show is being produced in partnership by Netflix and Phantom Films. An exact release date has not been announced, but the show is set to premiere globally through Netflix when it launches. Amazon Announces July Premiere for 'All or Nothing' Football Documentary Series[teaser]The upcoming streaming series now has a premiere date. [/teaser] Amazon has announced a launch date for its newest original show. 'All or Nothing' is a football documentary series that will focus on the Arizona Cardinals. The show is being produced by NFL Films and is now set to premiere on July 1. "All or Nothing delivers exciting on-the-field NFL action paired with an intimate look inside the lives of players and coaches over the course of an entire season, which is something NFL fans have been clamoring for," said Conrad Riggs, Head of Unscripted, Amazon Studios. "With our Amazon Original Series, we are excited to bring Prime members shows that highlight interesting personalities and their true life stories." 'All or Nothing' is the first series to take viewers inside the locker room, on the sidelines, and off the field for an unprecedented look inside an NFL franchise's complete season. Season one picks up with the Arizona Cardinals following the season-ending injury to quarterback Carson Palmer in the 2014 season. Head coach Bruce Arians, President Michael Bidwill and general manager Steve Keim, along with Pro Bowlers Palmer, wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, cornerback Patrick Peterson and safety Tyrann Mathieu are ready for the challenge of a season that would result in an NFC West title and a trip to the conference championship game. Netflix Readies New Preschool Series 'Julie's Greenroom' Starring Julie Andrews[teaser]The upcoming kids show will celebrate the performing arts with Julie Andrews... and puppets! [/teaser] Netflix has announced its newest original series, 'Julie's Greenroom.' The preschool show is being produced by The Jim Henson Company and will star award winning actress Julie Andrews. "It’s been an incredible treat to work with Julie on this project," said Andy Yeatman, Director of Global Kids Content at Netflix. "This show is all about awakening children's interest in the performing arts while introducing a new era of puppets to the viewers." Andrews, who created the series with her daughter Emma Walton Hamilton and Judy Rothman-Rofė, will executive produce and star as Ms. Julie - the director of the Wellspring Center for the Performing Arts in which she teaches performing arts workshops in the theatre and its "Greenroom." Ms. Julie and her devoted assistant Gus (Giullian Yao Gioiello) bring the performing arts to a new generation of kids known as the "Greenies," played by original puppet characters built by the renowned Jim Henson's Creature Shop. The Greenies are a diverse group of kids who are mesmerized by all that the arts and creativity has to offer. Over the course of the season, with Ms. Julie's guidance and inspiration from the visiting guest artists, the kids create an entirely original new show, that is a mashup of all the performing arts including mime, music, dance, improv, circus arts, voice and more. Johannesburg Set to Host the First Studio Audience for Amazon's 'The Grand Tour'[teaser]Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond & James May are heading to South Africa.
