Yvonne Strahovski Joins Hulu's Drama Series 'The Handmaid's Tale'[teaser]The actress will join Elisabeth Moss and Joseph Fiennes in the upcoming show. [/teaser] Hulu has announced the addition of Yvonne Strahovski to the cast of 'The Handmaid's Tale.' The show is based on the novel of the same name by Margaret Atwood and will be produced by MGM Television. The Handmaid's Tale is the story of life in the dystopia of Gilead, a totalitarian society in what was formerly part of the United States. Facing environmental disasters and a plunging birthrate, Gilead is ruled by a twisted religious fundamentalism that treats women as property of the state. As one of the few remaining fertile women, Offred (Elisabeth Moss) is a Handmaid in the Commander's household, one of the caste of women forced into sexual servitude as a last desperate attempt to repopulate a devastated world. In this terrifying society where one wrong word could end her life, Offred navigates between Commanders, their cruel Wives, domestic Marthas, and her fellow Handmaids – where anyone could be a spy for Gilead -- all with one goal: to survive and find the daughter that was taken from her. According to Deadline, Strahovski is set to play Serena Joy, the head of the household staff and wife of Commander Waterford (Joseph Fiennes). Commander Fred Waterford is a powerful, high-ranking official who rules the household where Offred is a handmaid. The drama series is being created, executive produced, and written by Bruce Miller ('The 100'). Daniel Wilson, Fran Sears, and Warren Littlefield ('Fargo') will also serve as executive producers. An exact release date has not been announced, but the 10-episode first season is set to premiere on Hulu in 2017. A current Hulu subscription starts at $8 per month with commercials. In addition, ad-free playback is available for $12 per month. Source: DeadlinePosted Tue Aug 30, 2016 at 09:00 AM PDT by: -

[/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Severin is preparing 'The Killing of America' for Blu-ray sometime in October. The Killing of America focuses on what the director feels is the decline of the United States. It features interviews from Ed Dorris, a retired sergeant of the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, as well as Los Angeles County Coroner Thomas Noguchi. The documentary also shows several interviews with convicted killers such as Sirhan Sirhan as well as footage of murders and news broadcasts. The film received a wide release in Japan, where financial backers reportedly pressured Renan to add footage of peace vigils for John Lennon as a way to make the documentary less depressing. Years later the documentary would receive a 2013 North American release at Fantasia Festival in Canada. The film uses music by Robert Houston, Buffalo Springfield, John Lennon, Nick Cash, and others. The release will also include Violence USA -- the Japanese cut of the film with previously unseen footage. Alana and her cohorts can log into contestants' social media, taking every liberty as they post, text, and call to their hearts' desire in an effort to wreak complete havoc on their marks. The longer contestants stay in the game, the more money they stand to make. '100 Years of Beauty: How-To' (Cut.com): Based off the already successful YouTube series, this show offers a new how-to makeup and hairstyling series that teaches viewers how to create contemporary looks inspired by celebrated historical figures such as Frida Kahlo, Billie Holiday, and Imelda Marcos. This series explores thought-provoking dichotomies ranging from the realistically controversial to the hilariously hypothetical. Experts from relevant fields offer their unique perspectives to help viewers decide. 'Am I Doing This Right?'
