Netflix Readies Sixth and Final Season of 'Longmire' for 2017[teaser]The crime thriller will debut its final season on Netflix in 2017.[/teaser] Netflix has announced a sixth and final season for 'Longmire.' The 10-episode final season is set to premiere in 2017 in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. "We are grateful to Netflix for the opportunity to compose a closing chapter for these beloved characters that inspires lasting memories. Most importantly, we're committed to delivering a dynamic and satisfying conclusion to our fans that rewards their longtime loyalty," said executive producers Greer Shephard, Hunt Baldwin and John Coveny. 'Longmire,' the contemporary crime thriller set in Big Sky country, is based on the Walt Longmire mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson. The series stars Australian actor Robert Taylor (The Matrix) as Walt Longmire, the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming, along with Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica, Riddick), Lou Diamond Phillips (Southland, La Bamba), Cassidy Freeman (Smallville), Adam Bartley (Justified) and A. Martinez (General Hospital). "We are proud to be the home of the Longmire series, as so many viewers over the last few seasons have watched and been captivated by Walt’s journey. Hulu Set to Carry Disney & Fox Channels on Upcoming Live Streaming TV Service[teaser]Two more partners have been confirmed for the upcoming live streaming platform.[/teaser] Hulu has announced new affiliate deals with 21st Century Fox and The Walt Disney Company. As part of the agreement, Hulu will be able to offer live and on-demand content from Fox and Disney's portfolio of channels on its new live TV streaming service set to launch in early 2017. "We're building a service that offers subscribers the most sought-after programming on television -- and channels from 21st Century Fox and The Walt Disney Company are essential to that mix," said Mike Hopkins, CEO of Hulu. "With these two new deals in place, and additional partners to come, Hulu will soon give TV fans of all ages live and on-demand access to their favorite programs in a whole new, more flexible, highly personalized way." Hulu's new live TV streaming service will feature an easy-to-use personalized interface with access to live and on-demand news, entertainment, and sports networks through various media and mobile devices. The new Disney and Fox deals cover more than 35 networks, including FOX, ABC, Fox Sports 1, Fox Sports 2, BTN, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN-SEC, ESPN 3, Fox Regional Sports Networks across dozens of key national markets, Disney Channel, Disney XD, Disney Junior, Fox News, Fox Business, Freeform, FX, FXX, FXM, National Geographic, and Nat Geo Wild. Beyond Disney and Fox, Hulu also recently announced a deal with Time Warner to offer live and on-demand content from Turner's portfolio of networks, including channels like TNT, TBS, CNN, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, truTV, Boomerang and Turner Classic Movies.
