'Willard' and 'Ben' Headed for Blu-ray[teaser]Both 1970s cult classics will scurry to Blu-ray in May. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Scream Factory says 'Willard' and its sequel 'Ben' will hit Blu-ray on May 16. 'Willard' - Willard Stiles (Bruce Davison, Insidious: Chapter 4) is a young man with a big problem. He lives alone in a crumbling house with his ailing mother (Elsa Lanchester, Arnold, Bride of Frankenstein). His boss, Al Martin (Ernest Borgnine, Escape from New York) is a vulgar, cruel man who stole his business from Willard's father and is now working Willard to death at his factory job. Lonely, depressed and isolated, Willard is on the verge of a breakdown when he makes a new friend: Ben, one of the many rats who inhabit his dilapidated home. Not only can Willard communicate with the rodent, but he can actually command him to do his bidding. Using Ben and his furry friends as instruments of retaliation, Willard commands his pets to carry out his vengeance… 'Ben' - Ben is back! When detective sergeant Cliff Kirtland (Joseph Campanella, Meteor) investigates the horrifying murder of Willard Stiles by a band of rats, he discovers that the rats are now an organized army, and he must destroy the murderous rodents before it is too late. But the rats, led by Ben, the only survivor of the Willard attack, take to the challenge with full force and little fear. With an Oscar-nominated* theme song, Ben "presents some genuinely creepy scenes… [and] manages to deliver the goods expected of the genre while getting the audience all misty-eyed…" (TV Guide). Put your feet up – way up – and watch: Ben is an absolute must for everyone who likes a good scare! No other details have been revealed at this time. Warren Beatty's 'Rules Don't Apply' Blu-ray Bound[teaser]The period romantic comedy is headed for Blu-ray at the end of the month. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, 20th Century Fox is working on 'Rules Don't Apply' for Blu-ray on February 28. An aspiring young actress (Lily Collins) and her ambitious young driver (Alden Ehrenreich) struggle hopefully with the absurd eccentricities of the wildly unpredictable billionaire (Warren Beatty), who they work for. It's Hollywood, 1958. Small town beauty queen and devout Baptist virgin Marla Mabrey (Collins), under contract to the infamous Howard Hughes (Beatty), arrives in Los Angeles. At the airport, she meets her driver Frank Forbes (Ehrenreich), who is engaged to be married to his 7th grade sweetheart and is a deeply religious Methodist. Their instant attraction not only puts their religious convictions to the test, but also defies Hughes' #1 rule: no employee is allowed to have any relationship whatsoever with a contract actress. Hughes' behavior intersects with Marla and Frank in very separate and unexpected ways, and as they are drawn deeper into his bizarre world, their values are challenged and their lives are changed. The combo pack will feature 1080p video, lossless 5.1 audio, and supplements include: This is Rules Don't Apply - Featurette; Music Video: "The Rules Don't Apply" performed by Lily Collins; and a Gallery. Hulu Announces Cast for Marvel's 'Runaways' Streaming Series[teaser]The new Marvel show has cast its leads.[/teaser] Marvel and Hulu have announced the cast of their new original series, 'Runaways.' The upcoming streaming show is based on the Marvel comic created by the award-winning team of Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona. The ensemble of young stars is set to include Rhenzy Feliz, Lyrica Okano, Virginia Gardner, Ariela Barer, Greg Sulkin, and Allegra Acosta. "The fun and chemistry that this group of talented actors create is wonderful and we’re so excited to bring these beloved characters to life," said Jeph Loeb, Executive Producer and Head of Marvel Television. Every teenager thinks their parents are evil. What if you found out they actually were? 'Marvel's Runaways' is the story of six diverse teenagers who can barely stand each other but who must unite against a common foe--their parents. Here's a full rundown of the cast per the press release: Rhenzy Feliz (“Teen Wolf,” “Casual”) as Alex Wilder is a loud-and-proud nerd. Admittedly a bit of a loner, Alex spends much of his free-time playing video games, but deep down, what he wants most is to reunite his childhood group of friends. Lyrica Okano (“The Affair,” “Unforgettable”) Nico Minoru–tough, intelligent, and independent–embodies teenage angst. A budding “Wiccan,” Nico’s carefully crafted goth appearance isolates her from her peers and family, but maybe what she really needs is someone to talk to. Virginia Gardner (“Goat,” “Little Bitches”) as Karolina Dean, model-perfect exterior with a lot going on behind her professionally whitened smile, is burdened by the lofty expectations and responsibilities put upon her by her parents. Underneath her veneer of privilege and perfection, Karolina is experiencing a newfound eagerness to explore her identity and pursue her own desires. Ariela Barer (“New Girl,” “One Day at a Time”) as Gert Yorkes is a purple-haired, bespectacled, contemporary riot grrrl. Never passing up a moment to stand on a soapbox, Gert sometimes wields her persona as a brash social justice warrior to mask her true feelings. Gregg Sulkin (“Faking It,” “Don’t Hang Up,” “Anti Social”) as Chase Stein is a lacrosse-playing, high school heartthrob. While many write him off as a dumb jock, Chase exhibits flashes of untapped brilliance in engineering, not unlike his wildly successful father’s. Allegra Acosta (“100 Things to do Before High School,” “Just Add Magic”) as Molly Hernandez, the youngest and most innocent member of her friend group, is known for her peppy positivity and a deep yearning to belong. Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage ('The O.C.,' 'Gossip Girl') will serve as Co-Showrunners/writers and Executive Producers. Marvel's Head of Television, Jeph Loeb ('Marvel's Jessica Jones,' 'Marvel's Luke Cage') and Jim Chory ('Marvel’s Daredevil,' 'Marvel’s Jessica Jones') will also serve as Executive Producers, with Lis Rowinski set to produce as well. An exact release date has not been announced yet. More cast members will be revealed at a later date. A current Hulu subscription starts at $8 per month with commercials. In addition, ad-free playback is available for $12 per month. Source: MarvelPosted Fri Feb 3, 2017 at 09:30 AM PST by: -
