Lionsgate Sets 'Repo' Blu-ray Specs, Adds Exclusives[teaser]Lionsgate has confirmed final specs for 'Repo! The Genetic Opera,' which will rock Blu-ray this January with hours of exclusive next-gen content.[/teaser] As previously reported, Lionsgate will debut 'Saw' helmer Darren Lynn Bousman's ambitious rock opera on Blu-ray January 20, day-and-date with the standard DVD. Just-confirmed tech specs for the release will see a BD-50 dual-layer presentation with 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and English DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 7.1 Surround audio. Supplements shared with the standard DVD include a pair of audio commentaries (the first with director Darren Lynn Bousman and actors Bill Moseley, Alexa Vega, and Ogre, and the second with Bousman, creators Darren Smith and Terrance Zdunich and music producer Joseph Bishara), plus a pair of featurettes ("From Stage to Screen," "Legal Assassin: A Repo Man"). 'Pride & Glory' Coming to Blu-ray[teaser]New Line is bringing the Edward Norton-Colin Farrell crime drama 'Pride and Glory' to Blu-ray this January.[/teaser] The little-seen drama about a multi-generational family of New York City police officers, failed to garner much notice from critics or audiences. New Line (via Warner Home Video) will debut the film on February 20, day-and-date with the standard DVD. National Geographic to 'Journey to the Edge of the Universe' on Blu-ray[teaser]National Geographic has announced a late-March Blu-ray debut for the space exploration documentary 'Journey to the Edge of the Universe.'[/teaser] Building on images taken from the Hubble telescope, 'Journey to the Edge of the Universe' recreates the first accurate non-stop voyage from Earth to the edge of the Universe through the use of spectacular CGI technology, and explores the science and history behind the distant celestial bodies in the solar system. Distributed via Warner Home Video 'Journey to the Edge of the Universe' will debut on Blu-ray March 31, day-and-date with the standard DVD. Tech details for the high-def version include a BD-25 single-layer presentation, with 1080p/VC-1 video and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround audio and subtitles (in English, French and Spanish). Special Delivery - Netflix Update Arrives for Samsung Blu-ray Players[teaser]Samsung has released a firmware update that will allow Netflix customers to stream movies through their Blu-ray players.[/teaser] As previously reported, Samsung and Netflix settled on an arrangement similar to that announced by LG Electronics which will allow owners to take advantage of Netflix's "Watch Instantly" service at no additional cost. After installing the update to their Samsung BD-P2550 and BD-P2500 players, Netflix account holders can visit the website to add standard definition movies and TV episodes to their instant queues. Those selections will then be available for viewing on their TVs via their Samsung players. Warner Sets Date for Direct-to-Video 'Wonder Woman'[teaser]The world's greatest female superhero is coming to high-def, with Warner Premiere and DC Comics announcing an early-March Blu-ray arrival for its latest direct-to-video release, 'Wonder Woman.'[/teaser] Featuring the voices of Rosario Dawson, Keri Russell, and Virginia Madsen, this 2009 all-animated, video premiere film will arrive on Blu-ray March 3, day-and-date with the standard DVD.
