'Inside Out 2' Brings Joy to Blu-ray and 4K UHD Limited Edition SteelBook on September 10The Disney/Pixar animated comedy sequel Inside Out 2 will be getting a Blu-ray and 4K UHD Collectible SteelBook on September 10. Digital will arrive on August 20. Pixar's top-grossing box office smash of all time worldwide has been hailed by critics as “absolute perfection, hilarious” (Jazz Tangcay, Variety) and “an unforgettable experience” (Landon Johnson, Awards Watch) and the home video release is packed with exclusive content featuring an all-new documentary, an alternative opening, deleted scenes and much more. Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2 returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley just as headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up. And it looks like she’s not alone. Maya Hawke lends her voice to Anxiety, alongside Amy Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear, and Liza Lapira as Disgust. Directed by Kelsey Mann and produced by Mark Nielsen. Inside Out 2 - 4K UHD Limited Edition SteelBook Inside Out 2 - Blu-ray Bonus Features New Emotions – With Riley's imminent puberty, the story of Inside Out 2 always suggested that there would be a party of new emotions complicating Riley's world—and throwing a wrench into Joy's hard-won stability. But exactly what those new emotions could be was a big question mark. Casting the new emotions in Riley’s mind was a fun exploration into the shifting mindset of a teenager, and was also informed by some of the discarded scenes and characters from the original film. In this documentary we’ll discuss that process of creating Anxiety, Embarrassment, Ennui, and Envy—from narrowing them down from a long list of possible emotions, to the design, animation, and voicing of these new, hilarious, and strangely recognizable characters. Unlocking the Vault – In a kind of visual commentary, a group of central creatives watch and discuss the scene “The Vault.” As they stop and start—and refer to various IP versions of the scene—we’ll hear about the inspiration for Riley’s repressed memories like Bloofy and Lance Slashblade, the development of the scene in Story, and the technical challenges of creating 2D characters that exist in the CG world of Riley’s mind. Deleted Scenes Cold Open – In this alternate opening, a now 13-year-old Riley awkwardly fumbles her way through an original song she wrote for a school audition. Broken Joy – After momentarily being unable to drive the console, Joy worries that she might be starting to malfunction. Pool Party – After Riley tries too hard to be fun at an older teen’s party – resulting in utter embarrassment – her “Anxiety” becomes “Self-Loathing” who then ousts our hero emotions from headquarters. Puberty Park – After seeing their faces printed on “wanted posters,” Joy and the others rogue emotions race through a puberty-themed amusement park while being chased by mind worker cops. Shame Spiral – At a lock-in with some cool, older girls, Riley and friends play a game of “Never Have I Ever” that goes a bit too far – wreaking havoc in Riley’s mind. David Fincher's Zodiac & Barry Sonnenfeld's Addams Family Values Spooking 4K UHD 10/29 - Pre-Orders Live! Not officially official yet, we haven't had the press releases come in, but Amazon and every other online retailer has it up for preorder! Paramount will be releasing Zodiac (2007) and Addams Family Values (1993) on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray on October 29th. We've heard these were in the works for some time so it's nice to see some real confirmation and a release date! At least for now, that's the release date. At any time, even today, Paramount could drop a pair of press releases on us and we'll have to scoot back here and update everything. But until then consider these on the mark - also worth noting is the "Paramount Scares" logo on the top of the spines... and also interesting that they were not included in the Paramount Scares Vol. 2 box set... could there be some mystery discs in that set after all? Zodiac - 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Based on the true story of the notorious serial killer and the intense manhunt he inspired, Zodiac is a superbly crafted thriller form the director of Se7en and Panic Room. Featuring an outstanding ensemble cast led by Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo and Chloë Sevigny, Zodiac is a searing and singularly haunting examination of twin obsessions: one man's desire to kill and another's quest for the truth. Addams Family Values - 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray It's love at first fright when Gomez (Raul Julia) and Morticia (Anjelica Huston) welcome a new addition to the Addams household -- Pubert, their soft, cuddly, mustachioed baby boy. As Fester (Christopher Lloyd) falls hard for voluptuous nanny Debbie Jilinksy (Joan Cusack), Wednesday (Christina Ricci) and Pugsley (Jimmy Workman) discover she's a black-widow murderess who plans to add Fester to her collection of dead husbands. The family's future grows even bleaker when the no-good nanny marries Fester and has the kids shipped off to summer camp. But Wednesday still has a Thing or two up her sleeve... With gags and ghouls galore, Addams Family Values is "screamingly funny!" (Jeff Craig, Sixty Second Preview). UPDATE: 8/12/24 - We now know some more details about the bonus features: NEW! Commentary by director Barry Sonnenfeld and screenwriter Paul Rudnick— The writer and director of ADDAMS FAMILY VALUES reunite to watch their beloved comedy and provide new insight on the production and the film’s continuing legacy. NEW! Creating Family Values— The Paramount Archives digs up a collection of insightful behind-the-scenes images and interviews shot during the production of ADDAMS FAMILY VALUES—including director Barry Sonnenfeld, screenwriter Paul Rudnick, and stars Anjelica Huston, Raul Julia, Christopher Lloyd, and Joan Cusack. You can pre-order both of these 4K UHD Blu-ray titles currently on Amazon and they will be arriving on October 29.Posted Mon Aug 5, 2024 at 03:14 PM PDT by: -

Excellent!! Shop On Dudes! It's HDD's 4K UHD & Blu-ray Shopping Guide, August 5, 2024The heat is on! Although this week might seem a little average, there are still a fair amount to choose from. It is another one of those months that will ramp up and be huge at the end of the month. As we have said before, prepare yourselves! Welcome to Volume 5 Episode 10 of our weekly release guide. A look at the highlights of what's coming to disc the week of August 4th - August 10th, as well as a look at announcements from last week. 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Releases- Import Monday has got a few more than usual. Actually, for the entire week, there are more imports to consider than there are domestic titles. For actual new to 4K material, Arrow Video has comedy/crime film Heathers with Winona Ryder, Christian Slater and Shannen Doherty. For a classier cover art, Arrow UK has an Arrow shop exclusive release as well. Everything else (film-wise) we have seen available to the U.S. market already, but still worthy of mentioning as we do have readers on that side of the pond. Something we see all too often, where the U.S. got a standard release, the UK gets a "classier" swag-filled release, this time it's for Anchorman, starring Will Ferrell. Sounding like a broken record, Atomic Blonde gets a snazzy swag-filled release as well, this time it's Universal Pictures doing the deed. You might need to see another market (ebay or other seller) as Amazon sold out on their preorders. Maybe not as over-the-top as the two releases above, but still more than the Shout! Factory U.S. release, Icon Film releases Point Break with a little more stuff in it. Closing out Import Monday, the LionsGate counterpart release of Boy Kills World comes to us from Signature Entertainment, with what I consider a better cover art. Shout! Factory. That is what most of the 4K domestic releases category this week consists of. First up, Bill & Ted's Most Triumphant Trilogy. This contains all three Bill & Ted movies. Previously, you could get the first film in 4K, and you had to import the third film, and were probably out of luck for the middle one. If you already got the first film, the 2 sequels, Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey and Bill & Ted Face the Music are now also available individually to 4K. A double-dip of Collateral now finds itself available, but listed as a 20th Anniversary SteelBook. Two previously released SteelBooks, as retailer exclusives but now general releases also come out on Tuesday, Dragonheart and Hackers. Import Wednesday from Umbrella Entertainment Australia, JSA: Joint Security Area is available as a slipcase edition and a collector's edition. The standard edition is also available but we have that listed on the 16th via Amazon U.S. Import Friday (via Amazon U.S.) you can snatch up The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy SteelBook Collection. This set looks identical to the previously released Best Buy set. It being an import, there is no digital code enclosed. Blu-ray releases- Import Monday (keep in mind some may be region B locked), StudioCanal's Vintage Classics label offers No Trees in the Street and The Weak and the Wicked. Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings from 88 Films. And, action/comedy Hundreds Of Beavers. Domestic release Tuesday has some slim pickings. From Neon Releasing, 2024 comedy Babes. Two anime releases this week, Japanese language, Is the Order a Rabbit? BLOOM (Season 3) and (bilingual) Sweet Reincarnation: The Complete Season. Just like the 4K category, import Wednesday is brought to you by Umbrella Entertainment out of Australia. Keep in mind that even though most of their releases are region free, The Primevals release has a Region B listing. Dating The Enemy: Collector's Edition (Australian Import) Dating The Enemy (Australian Import) (Slipcase Version) Love And Other Catastrophes: Collector's Edition (Australian Import) Love And Other Catastrophes (Australian Import) (Slipcase Version) The Primevals (Australian Import) (Slipcase Version) The Quiet Family: Collector's Edition (Australian Import) The Quiet Family (Australian Import) (Slipcase Version) And for Friday releases, Imprint Australia titles via Amazon U.S.. Dead Boys: Return of The Living Dead Boys - Halloween Night (1986) The Juror (1996) - Imprint Films Limited Edition 8MM (1999) - Imprint Films Limited Edition Smoke / Blue in the Face (1995) - Imprint Films Limited Edition Film Focus: Harvey Keitel (1992-1999) - Imprint Films Limited Edition Men of Respect - Imprint Films Limited Edition Notable announcements from last week: For those that took a chance chose to wait, and to not import the region locked 4K disc, you should be pleased to see that Eli Roth's Thanksgiving is getting a 4K domestic SteelBook release on October 15th. His adventures make him cross paths with an impressive array of characters portrayed by Dolores Del Rio, Ruth Warrick, Agnes Moorehead, Everett Sloane, Hans Conried, and Welles himself, who plays Colonel Haki, head of the Turkish Secret Police. The cinematography by Karl Struss in low—key and stylized, with a reviewer of the era pointing to its "Brilliant atmosphere, the nightmare of pursuit, and when the shock comes it leaps at the eye and ear". Journey Into Fear is a thriller worthy of the cinematic master Orson Welles.Blu-ray details: NEW 4K RESTORATION from safety preservation master positives from the Library of Congress Audio-only Orson Welles Mercury Theater Radio Broadcasts: DRACULA (7/11/1938) TREASURE ISLAND (7/18/1938) A TALE OF TWO CITIES (7/25/1938) Optional English SDH subtitles for the main feature Conflict (1945) - Warner Archive Collection Conflict is a love triangle with murder at its heart, an atmospheric film noir of rainy nights, looming shadows, fatal romance and a trench-coated killer that walks out of the mist – all directed by Curtis Bernhardt, a filmmaker skilled in the Expressionistic style of his native Germany. Preorder Some Relief From The August Heat - HDD's August 2024 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Shopping GuideWith heat waves slapping us around and the sun baking us to death, we get to soak up some cool new 2160p discs. August has always been a sort of middling month, but 2024 is proving to be a fun run of new releases, classic hits, and snazzy rerelease packing upgrades. Just a few years ago, August was the time of year when studios started to wind down their summer theatrical slates, pop out the titles that didn't do well theatrically on disc, and then distract us with some big favorites. The last couple of years have been pretty volatile for this marketplace and it's become something like the wild west - unpredictable! We're getting everything from underperforming new titles, big fan favorites, SteelBook repackages, and a full run of cult classics and foreign favorites. August 2024 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Shopping Guide August 6th - 4K UHD Releases The month starts off a little light on quantity but not quality. Aside from a SteelBook repackage from Paramount, the week is virtually owned by Shout Studios! Action, comedy, fantasy, there are some fan favorites here well worth the attention. August 13th 4K UHD Releases This second week of August picks up a lot of speed for a number of big releases. We get new hits (and semi-flops), single-title reissues, '80s action classics, and foreign favorites. Interesting to see hit discs are a number of Universal catalog titles from the last 10 years or so all getting 4K upgrades. Keep in mind for Furiosa, the 5-Film Mad Max franchise collection and a standalone Black and Chrome edition will be hitting in September. Here's what's coming: August 20th - 4K UHD Releases Keeping with the trend, this third release frame for August picks up with some more SteelBook upgrades, television, a '90s classic comedy, thrillers, chillers, and more! While some of these releases feel disingenuous, it's nice to see some of these titles get the 2160p HDR treatment. There are a few Warner Bros SteelBooks that are also apparently getting reissued, but we haven't seen them crop up for sale anywhere so for now we're leaving Beetlejuice and Joker (Joker has been confirmed Walmart Exclusive and up for preorder) off the list. If we get true confirmation they're coming and or where they're up for sale, we'll update the guide zip quick. August 27th - 4K UHD Releases Not slowing down at all, this final week of August 2024 is packed! We have Apes in 4K. We have the Daughter of Shyamalan in 4K. Godard in 4K. Albert Brooks in 4K. Pre-slap Will Smith in 4K! What I personally love about this frame is there's a lot of everything for every kind of collector. Thrillers, comedies, horror films, action classics. More Jean Claude Van Damme in 4K! And that about wraps it up. There are a couple of titles we're trying to pin down official release date news for, so this guide could get even bigger before all is said and done! Also keep in mind, release dates are relatively fluid, somethings change so if any titles get shuffled or (disc gods forbid) canceled outright, we'll update ASAP. Thanks again for your pre-orders, they really do go a long way towards keeping out little show going.Posted Wed Jul 31, 2024 at 07:39 AM PDT by:
