Announcement starts at 10:40 a.m. ET (7:40 a.m. PT).
The week of E3 is officially upon us, and Nintendo is kicking off the festivities bright and early this morning with a new content announcement for 'Super Smash Bros.' for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.
A fair portion of this livestream will probably be dedicated to taking a closer look at Lucas, who was announced as a DLC character earlier this month and will be available for purchase starting today. There's a good chance, though, that Nintendo's big surprise reveals have slipped out a little early, as 'Street Fighter' poster boy Ryu and Roy of 'Fire Emblem' fame were all but confirmed yesterday.
You can see for yourself who will or will not be gearing up for a 'Smash Bros.' appearance via the livestream below starting 10:40 a.m. ET (7:40 a.m. PT).
The stream starts off with the official announcement of Roy. Rocking a new look, Roy is a more powerful swordsman with a sweet spot in the middle of his blade. His Final Smash takes the form of a 'Fire Emblem' critical hit. He costs $3.99 for use on just one console and $4.99 for use on both.
Ryu has also been confirmed, with an interesting fighting style that incorporates original 'Street Fighter' controls.
A few new 'Smash' stages were announced, including a free Miiverse stage for Wii U players. Also announced were a couple of stages based on classic levels from the original 'Super Smash Bros.'
A bunch of new Mii Fighter costumes were revealed, representing a host of other game franchises. Costumes are available from 'Animal Crossing,' 'Megaman,' and 'Splatoon.' Two classic fighting franchises are also represented, with costumes available from 'Virtua Fighter' and 'Tekken.' Each Mii costume costs $0.75 for use on one console and $1.15 for use on both.
Finally, the next line of Amiibos was announced. It includes all three forms of Mii Fighter, R.O.B., Duck Hunt, Mr. Game & Watch, and Falco. The next line of Amiibos will release in September.
