This was a very busy week at The Bonus View. First off the most controversial film of the year, so far, came out and the comments came pouring in fast and furious as people agreed and disagreed with the reviews and commentary we posted. 'Prometheus' caused quite a stir and the controversy hasn't subsided yet.
With the opening of 'Prometheus' the movie quickly gained a love-it-or-hate-it vibe that spread throughout The Bonus View blog contributors. Luke's review was entirely positive, saying it was one of the best sci-fi movies he's ever seen. Josh shot back saying that it was one of the worst movies he's ever seen, comparing it to the likes of 'The Phantom Menace.' Finally, Aaron and Luke put together a Critical Mass article arguing the different points of the movie as Aaron only thought it was pretty mediocre. Whose side do you come down on? Make sure to join in on the conversation soon.
Luke also took the time to review the two big theatrical openings this week. Find out just how stupid Adam Sandler's 'That's My Boy' really is, and find out if Luke liked or hated the new butt rock musical 'Rock of Ages.' One movie you should check out is the indie flick that's opening this week called 'Your Sister's Sister.' Luke says out of all the releases this weekend this is the one to see.
In the Trailer Park, E discussed two different cop-centric movies that are coming out. See the trailers for 'End of Watch' and 'Killer Joe' to find out if you really want to see them.
This week we're giving away a couple copies of TNT's alien invasion drama 'Falling Skies.' Don't forget to enter because today is the last day that you can. Follow this link and add a few captions to the picture that has been posted. It's that easy.
We're getting down to the very last characters in the tournament, but the road to here hasn't been smooth at all. During our Brisco County, Jr. versus Buffy matchup we had some voter fraud we had to deal with. But, the tournament is back on track. Check out the results of Cameron vs. David Banner and Seven of Nine versus Raylan Givens. Also, don't forget to vote in today's matchup which will feature a pair of TV juggernauts. Malcolm Reynolds faces down Jack Bauer.
We're reaching the bitter end of 'The Killing' and Aaron has followed the entire second season the entire way through. He may be the only critic online still covering the show, but he's determined to see it through to the end!
In the Mid-Week Poll we asked if you'd upgrade your home theater system to 4k standards if it became possible to do so. In anticipation of 'Prometheus' our Weekend Roundtable was centered around prequels and what prequels the contributors to the blog would like to see made.
Thanks for joining us this week. Remember to head on over to The Bonus View and enter the 'Falling Skies' contest. Free TV season on Blu-ray. What do you have to lose? Keep an eye out for more contests, we're always doing them. And, as always, have a great weekend.
