Oof. This is not a good week for new releases on VUDU. It’s kind of a dead zone of crap that nobody’s going to want to watch. This might be a good time to dig into the wealth of much more worthy titles in the streaming service’s back catalog. I’ll even try to help you out with that.
For whatever it’s worth, here’s a look at the titles entering the VUDU stream this week:

I already covered most of the week’s new day-and-date releases (including ‘The Conspirator‘, ‘Hoodwinked Too!‘, ‘Priest‘, ‘Something Borrowed‘ and ‘The Ward‘) in my Blu-ray update earlier this morning. I won’t waste time writing about those again. What I will say is that I’m surprised VUDU offers ‘Hoodwinked Too!’ in 3D but not ‘Priest’.
Of the indies and direct-to-video titles, honestly the only one I’d even heard of is that ‘Marley and Me‘ DTV sequel. Some Googling tells me that ‘Meet Monica Velour‘ is a comedy in which Kim Cattrall plays an aging porn star who befriends an obsessed young nerd. The trailer looks reasonably funny. I like the ‘Flesh Gordon’ spoof. I can’t vouch for it, but this might be an amusing rental. (It’s also out on Blu-ray today, but it seems like a riskier purchase.)

Josh’s Random VUDU Pick:
If none of the new titles do it for you (and why would they this week?), a quick perusal through the VUDU catalog reveals that the service offers the Julie Delpy romantic comedy ‘2 Days in Paris‘ in 1080p HDX format. There’s no sign of that one on Blu-ray. It’s a funny movie, sort of a lighter, more neurotic version of ‘Before Sunset’. Delpy wrote and directed as well as stars. Give that a shot. You may like it.
