Captain’s Blog: “I Have Failed This City”

My, it’s been awhile since I’ve done a Captain’s Blog post. I know, I’ve failed this… community? Anyway, some recent news has given me a jolt of adrenaline to come out of the shadows and return to The Bonus View. The 10th anniversary of the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo is on the horizon for 2015!

To be honest, not a whole lot is known yet, but we do have the dates: April 16th-19th, 2015. The first couple of special guests have also been announced. They include a certain vigilante of Starling City and an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Stephen Amell of TV’s ‘Arrow’ is expected to be in attendance on Saturday and Sunday, while Ming-Na Wen from Marvel’s hit series ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ is lined up for Saturday only. I haven’t watched ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’, but I’ve been following ‘Arrow’ so I wouldn’t mind saying hello to Stephen.

Who else will be there? Only time will tell. Since it’s an anniversary event, I’d expect some nice surprises for sure. It would be pretty sweet if the convention could reel in some major cast members of ‘The Walking Dead’ or ‘Game of Thrones’ – but maybe that’s just wishful thinking. The only person we definitely don’t want to see (again) is Calgary’s Fire Marshal… unless it’s in an off-duty capacity.

Passes opened for sale on November 1st. To order, please visit the Calgary Expo web site.

While I have missed seeing these posts, on the other hand I haven’t wanted you to kill yourself bringing them to us, as almost happened a couple of years ago (or so it seemed). Welcome back!
