Warner Announces 'Clone Wars' For Blu-ray[teaser]Announcing the first 'Star Wars' film for high-def, Warner will bring the animated adventure 'The Clone Wars' to Blu-ray in mid-November.[/teaser] Meant to be a big-screen lead-in for the upcoming television series of the same name, 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' was a box office underachiever, and failed to scale anywhere near the heights of the live-action 'Star Wars' films. Warner will debut 'The Clone Wars' on Blu-ray November 11, day-and-date with the standard DVD. Tech specs will see a BD-50 dual-layer presentation with 1080p/VC-1 video and English Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround audio. Extras include a "Clone Wars: The Untold Stories" preview of the first season of the 'Clone Wars' TV series. Exclusive to the Blu-ray is "A Creative Conversation" picture-in-picture commentary with director Dave Filoni, producer Catherine Winder, writer Henry Gilroy, and editor Jason W.A. Sony to Double Dip 'Stranger Than Fiction' Blu-ray[teaser]Sony Pictures has announced its latest "double dip" Blu-ray re-issue, a special edition of the Will Ferrell comedy 'Stranger Than Fiction' due in early February.[/teaser] Originally released on Blu-ray in early 2007, the Marc Forster directed cult hit will get a retooled version on December 2, when Sony releases 'Stranger Than Fiction (Special Edition)' (timed to coincide with the recently-announced Ferrell comedy 'Step Brothers'). Extras announced thus far are those found on the previous Blu-ray, including five featurettes ("On Location in Chicago," "Actors in Search of a Story," "Building the Team," "Words on a Page," "The VFX of Stranger than Fiction"). 'Live from Abbey Road' to Get 'Best Of' Blu-ray (UPDATED)[teaser]The popular cable concert series 'Live at Abbey Road' is coming to high-def, with the November Blu-ray compilation release 'Best of Season One.'[/teaser] Compiling performances from a star-studded roster of over two dozen top music artists, 'Live From Abbey Road: Best of Season One' features tracks from such disparate acts as John Mayer, Dave Matthews, Iron Maiden, Goo Goo Dolls, LeAnn Rimes, and Gnarls Barkley. BCI Home Entertainment will debut the Blu-ray on November 11. According to Cliff MacMillan, Director of Acquisitions at BCI, the disc will be anamorphic widescreen 1080i (1.78:1). 'Heartbreak Kid' Headed to Blu-ray[teaser]Adding another "catch up" title to their Blu-ray catalog, DreamWorks has announced a mid-December release for the Ben Stiller comedy 'The Heartbreak Kid.'[/teaser] Originally released on HD DVD in late 2007, this remake of the 1972 cult favorite (starring Charles Grodin in the Stiller role) barely earned $35 million at the domestic box office. DreamWorks will give the Farrelly Brothers-directed farce another shot when it hits Blu-ray on December 16.
