Warner Exposes 'Body of Lies' Blu-ray Details[teaser]Warner has exposed final specs for 'Body of Lies,' which arrives on Blu-ray in mid-February with exclusive content and Digital Copy.[/teaser] As previously announced, Warner will debut the Leonardo DiCaprio-Russell Crowe box office disappointment on Blu-ray February 17, day-and-date with the standard DVD. Newly-confirmed extras include audio commentary with director Ridley Scott, screenwriter William Monahan, and original novel author David Ignatius, the "Interactive Debriefing" featurette and deleted scenes (both in HD). Exclusive to the Blu-ray is "Actionable Intelligence: Deconstructing Body of Lies," where key sequences are explored in depth via on-set footage and cast/crew interviews and exclusive features via BD-Live. Finally, a second standard DVD disc will house a Digital Copy of the film compatible with PCs, PSP and iTunes. National Geographic to Bring Kingdom of the Blue Whale' to Blu-ray[teaser]National Geographic has announced a late-March Blu-ray debut for the undersea documentary 'Kingdom of the Blue Whale.'[/teaser] Documenting an expedition to uncover the secrets of the blue whale, 'National Geographic: Kingdom of the Blue Whale' uses high-def and satellite technology to tag and identify different whale species and gender-related behavior. Distributed via Warner Home Video 'Kingdom of the Blue Whale' will debut on Blu-ray March 31, day-and-date with the standard DVD. Tech details for the high-def version include a BD-25 single-layer presentation, with 1080p/VC-1 video and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround audio and subtitles (in English, French and Spanish). Weinstein Bumps Up 'Clerks II' Blu-ray[teaser]Arriving one week earlier than expected, the Weinstein Co. has confirmed an early-February Blu-ray release for 'Clerks II.'[/teaser] In a retailer alert made last month, the studio was reported to have set a February 10 street date for Kevin Smith's slacker sequel. The Weinstein Co. has now officially announced the title, which will hit stores one week earlier than expected on February 3. Frys and Blockbuster Offer HD DVD Bargains[teaser]Reminiscent of the Ghost of Christmas Past, HD DVD deals continue to materialize almost a year after the end of the format war.[/teaser] In what looks to be a one day sale, Frys is offering a special on the XBOX 360 HD DVD player, that comes bundled with HD DVD box sets of Heroes: Season One and Battlestar Galactica: Season One. Meanwhile, Blockbuster is offering its collection of previously viewed HD DVD titles for $7.99 a piece. With over 350 titles to choose from, this offer could prove tempting for many high-def fans (Editor's Note - I for one am tempted! Then again, I still rummage through LaserDiscs at second hand stores and garage sales).
