More BATMAN Films (1989-1997) Headed for 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray[teaser]The four films directed by Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher will be getting a 4K upgrade this summer. [/teaser] Warner Brothers preparing Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, and Batman & Robin for 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray on June 4. A boxed set of all four movies will be available on September 17 Batman - After a young boy witnesses his parents' murder on the streets of Gotham City, he grows up to become the Batman, a mysterious figure in the eyes of Gotham's citizens, who takes crime-fighting into his own hands. He first emerges out of the shadows when the Joker appears - a horribly disfigured individual who is out for revenge on his former employer and generally likes to have a good time, but the identity of the `bat' is unknown. Perhaps millionaire Bruce Wayne and photographer Vicki Vale have a good chance of finding out? Batman Returns - Gotham City faces two monstrous criminal menaces: the bizarre, sinister Penguin (Danny DeVito) and the slinky, mysterious Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer). Can Batman (Michael Keaton) battle two formidable foes at once? Especially when one wants to be mayor and the other is romantically attracted to Gotham's hero? Like the 1989 groundbreaking original, Batman Returns is directed by the wizardly Tim Burton. And like the first blockbuster, it's a dazzling adventure that leaves you breathless. Batman Forever - Riddle me this, riddle me that, you'll find adventure on the wings of a bat! Brace for excitement as Val Kilmer (Batman), Tommy Lee Jones (Two-Face), Jim Carrey (the Riddler), Nicole Kidman (Dr. Chase Meridian) and Chris O'Donnell (Robin) star in the third spectacular film in Warner Bros.' Batman series. Joel Schumacher directs and Tim Burton co-produces this thrill-ride of a movie that thunders along on Batmobile, Batwing, Batboat, Batsub and bold heroics. Hang on! Batman & Robin - Chills and thrills: will Gotham City be put on ice? George Clooney is Batman as the dark knight battles his greatest threat yet: cold-hearted Mr. Freeze (Schwarzenegger) and venomous Poison Ivy (Thurman). Batman has more than Gotham City to protect: the youthful eagerness of crimefighting comrades Robin (O'Donnell) and Batgirl (Silversone) puts them frequently in harm's way. New very special effects include a wild sky-surfing sequence and Freeze's outrageous ice-blasting arsenal. It's state-of-the-art excitement from out Batfamily to yours. Each release will feature the film in 4K HDR with a Dolby Atmos soundtrack as well as previously released bonus material. Plus the included Blu-rays have also been digitally remastered. You can find the latest specs for these films linked from our 4K Blu-ray Release Schedule, where they are indexed under June 4. Joaquin Phoenix Puts on a Happy Face in Chilling First JOKER Teaser Trailer[teaser]"The Clown Prince of Crime" is laughing his way toward theaters in October.[/teaser] Warner Bros. has released the first teaser trailer for Joker, offering a peek at Joaquin Phoenix's creepy take on the iconic Batman villain. The film is set to hit theaters on October 4, 2019. A failed stand-up comedian is driven insane and becomes a psychopathic murderer. The movie stars Joaquin Phoenix as the title character, along with Zazie Beetz, Robert De Niro, Shea Whigham, Frances Conroy, and Brett Cullen. Todd Phillips (The Hangover) directs from a script he wrote with Scott Silver. Check out the teaser trailer below! Likewise, while the movie is set in Gotham and the Wayne family is featured in the film, the character of Batman is not expected to make an appearance. Other upcoming DC films include David F. Sandberg's Shazam! which will premiere on April 5, 2019, Cathy Yan's Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) which will premiere on February 7, 2020, and Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman 1984 which will premiere on June 5, 2020. Likewise, a Suicide Squad sequel/reboot from writer/director James Gunn, an Aquaman sequel, a new Batman film, and a Flash movie are also all in development. Source: Warner Bros. Epson Files Lawsuit Against RCA Brand Projectors for Alleged False Lumens Advertising[teaser]The company is fighting against false lumens advertising.[/teaser] Epson has filed a lawsuit against Curtis International Ltd. and Technicolor SA for falsely advertising the brightness performance of RCA brand projectors. The lawsuit alleges that the companies have been incorrectly stating the brightness capabilities of several projector models, including the RCA RPJ116, RCA RPJ116+, RCA RPJ119, RCA RPJ104, RCA RPJ129, and RCA RPJ136. "When manufacturers use blatantly misleading specification claims – it hurts the entire industry – from consumers, schools and businesses to retailers, dealers and suppliers," said Mike Isgrig, vice president, consumer sales and marketing, Epson America, Inc. "Epson ensures its performance claims are based on projector industry standards, and takes it seriously when competitors misstate specs that mislead consumers. This practice makes it impossible for consumers to make informed purchase decisions and is damaging to the credibility of the industry and those who support it." According to the press release, independent testing has confirmed that the projectors in question are typically only capable of as little as 1 percent of their advertised lumens performance. Likewise, the lawsuit also covers misleading images of the projectors in well-lit areas and the use of the term "Super Bright" to describe the projectors as further examples of false claims made by the defendants. Below is a chart detailing the findings from the independent testing: Epson has stated that the goal of the lawsuit is to help protect customers from buying projectors with misrepresented performance capabilities. The company was recently granted a permanent injunction and damage award of $5 million as a result of a similar false advertising lawsuit against iRulu.
