YouTube Gaming coming this summer.
That dripping sound you hear is someone at Twitch cold-sweating out the vast majority of their vital humors, because YouTube has officially taken a giant, obvious swipe at their bread and butter.
YouTube have announced, via their blog, a new splinter site called YouTube Gaming, which will collect all of YouTube's gaming content into one handy place, with each game having its own specialized aggregate page with all the videos and live streams pertaining to it, so that, in their words, "when you want something specific, you can search with confidence, knowing that typing 'call' will show you 'Call of Duty' and not 'Call Me Maybe.'”
In addition, for the folks actually doing the streaming, they'll have access to all of YouTube's current niceties--60fps streams, DVR, and converting streams directly into YouTube vids--as well as new toys, such as having a stream tied to one single link, and not having to schedule said livestream ahead of time.
For more info, you can actually go to gaming.youtube.com to sign up for updates, and play around with a fun little polygonal soundboard while you're at it. You can also follow @YouTubeGaming on Twitter.
