Naomi Watts is attached to star in the new one hour psychological thriller.
Netflix has announced the latest addition to its lineup of original series. 'Gypsy' is being developed by Universal Television, Working Title and writer Lisa Rubin.
The show will star two-time Academy Award nominee Naomi Watts as Jean Holloway – a therapist who begins to develop dangerous and intimate relationships with the people in her patients' lives.
Liza Chasin and Lisa Rubin will serve as executive producers. Likewise, Rubin will also serve as writer. Sam Taylor-Johnson ('Fifty Shades of Grey') is directing the first two episodes of the series, and Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Andrew Stearn and Naomi Watts are all on board as executive producers. An exact release date has not been announced, but the ten episode series is set to makes it streaming debut through Netflix in 2017.
Other upcoming Netflix premieres include 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt' season two on April 15, 'Patton Oswalt: Talking For Clapping' on April 22, 'Special Correspondents' on April 29, 'Marseille' on May 5, the second season of 'Grace and Frankie' on May 6, 'Chelsea' on May 11, season two of 'Chef's Table' on May 27, 'Bloodline' season two on May 27, 'The Do-Over' on May 27, 'Voltron: Legendary Defender' on June 10, 'The Fundamentals of Caring' on June 24, 'Marco Polo' season two on July 1, the documentary 'Tony Robbins: I Am Not Your Guru' on July 15, 'Project Mc2' season two on August 12, and 'The Crown' on November 4. In addition, the company also recently announced the showrunners for Marvel's 'The Defenders.'
A current Netflix subscription starts at $10 for HD streaming and $12 for Ultra HD streaming.
