'Halo 3' and 'Halo 4' Will Look Better in 'The Master Chief Collection' Too

Halo: The Master Chief Collection

We can only strive for perfection.

A lot of fuss has been made over the improvements to 'Halo 2' in the upcoming, Xbox One-exclusive, 'Halo: the Master Chief Collection,' despite the package containing all four core 'Halo' releases. It's not undeserving, as 'Halo 2' is reciving a full HD makeover due to its tenth anniversary, fittingly titled 'Halo 2: Anniversary,' much like the 'Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary" upgrade we got a few years back.

Still, it's worth noting that both 'Halo 3' and 'Halo 4' aren't shipping in 'The Master Chief Collection in only their original states. Speaking with Polygon, senior producer Dennis Reese confirmed as much, promising full 1080p, 60 fps for both games, as well as improved lighting and shaders. He calls the difference "quite dramatic," of course he's likely not to say anything less of his own creation. The team has also improved (or simply changed) the audio in both titles, sound effects for weapons and such replaced.

Of course, just like 'Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary' and 'Halo 2: Anniversary,' any game in the collection can be played in its original graphical and audio state too. Purists out there will have their safety zone.

On the multiplayer side of things, six 'Halo 2' maps are getting the full treatment, while the rest of all core 'Halo' games are included but not upgraded.

'Halo: The Master Chief Collection' releases on Nov. 11.
