'Splatoon' is an Inky Online Multiplayer Shooter for the Wii U

A large presence at Nintendo's E3 is 'Splatoon,' an online multiplayer shooter planned for release in the first half of 2015.

Two teams of four "Inklings" attempt to splatter an arena with their color of ink, all the while preventing the enemy from doing the same. Those Inklings can also transform into squids capable of surfing at high speed along any ground covered by their team's color.

It's a frantic battle for territory, and family-friendly at that! 'Splatoon's' official page remarks a required internet connection to play the game, which suggests it's online multiplayer-only.
