Kickstarter Backers to Receive Free Oculus Rift

All backers to receive a free Kickstarter Edition Rift

Oculus has today announced that all Kickstarter backers who pledged enough for a Rift development kit ($300 or more) will be receiving a free "Kickstarter Edition" Oculus Rift when it launches. As with all Rift pre-orders, it will be bundled with 'EVE: Valkyrie' and 'Lucky's Tale'.

If you're a backer, to get your free Rift, you'll need to fill out a Kickstarter survey before February 1st, and must live in one of the 20 countries that the Oculus Rift will be launching in. For those who don't live in one of those countries, Oculus is currently working on an alternative solution.

This is a really wonderful gift for a community that has taken the Rift from a somewhat humble Kickstarter campaign to an international sensation. While it's unfortunate that those who aren't in one of the 20 countries they'll be launching in might have to wait a bit longer, it's great that Oculus is working on a solution to this.
