New features to roll out along with it.
The Xbox One is finally starting to play a little catch up with its PC/PS4 brethren. Last week, we found out 'The Witness' was finally coming to the system; this week, it's 'Firewatch's turn.
'Firewatch' will be headed to Xbox One on September 21st. But it'll be bringing a wee bit more with it than just the main game (which, by the way, is fantastic as it is). On that same day, Campo Santo will be adding the Firewatch Audio Tour to the game, which is being described by the developers as "one part scavenger hunt, one part museum tour, one part game dev workshop, mixed with a dash of inside Campo Santo goofs". The trailer for the Xbox One port shows a little teaser of it at the end. It's looking like an extremely fun audio commentary and then some, and this is defiitely a game that begs for it.
But wait, there's more. Campo Santo will also be adding a free-roam mode to the game, which will put the game into a fully open world mode, complete with a non-story-dependent day/night cycle, and some extra secrets to find out in the Shoshone wilderness. It'll roll out to everyone eventually, but as an apparent "sorry for the wait", the Xbox One will be getting it first.
Anyone who missed out the first time, or wants their fleeting glimpse of the audio mode, check out the new trailer below.
