Inches 'FIFA' closer to cheat free.
As many players know, 'FIFA 15' looks ot continue the success of FIFA Ultimate Team, a system which allows players to build a team out of real world football players for use online.
Ans also as many players know, past incarnations of FUT have been ripe with fraud as players' fervor have lead them to basically cheat and become involved with all kinds of pay for player situations in transactions outside of the game. Such transcations have had the side effect of encouraging nefarious types to hack online PSN/Xbox accounts, purchase FUT items, and then transfer them to another account, and ultiamtely sell to another player for real money.
Today, EA shared several steps, including one major one, meant to curb this abuse:
From Rob Hodson Community Manager for EA Sports FIFA,
Today we’d like to share a few in-game changes that are coming to FUT 15 as part of our ongoing initiative to improve security and the FIFA 15 experience. This is related to our recent article regarding coin selling and buying: https://help.ea.com/en/article/fighting-cheaters-in-fifa-how-you-can-stay-safe/.
Trade Offers
We’ll be removing Trade Offers from FIFA 15 Ultimate Team.
Although some honest players used this feature to trade with friends, it became one of the methods used by coin sellers to sell and move coins. Account phishers also abused Trade Offers by moving stolen players and coins after wrongfully gaining access to unsuspecting FUT player accounts.
This will also address “bid bumping”, where people would try and trick others into bidding far more than they wanted for a player item.
It was a tough decision, but this is the right step towards improving security, showing cheaters the red card, and keeping FUT safe for all FIFA fans.
In addition to removing Trade Offers, the maximum number of Transfer Targets in FUT 15 will be 50 at a time. Also, for those that use the FUT 15 Web app, Origin Login Verification will soon be mandatory (to protect Origin accont hacking). Hopefully, with these measure in place, 'FIFA 15' will provide the most secure as well as newest and fanciest version of FUT to date.
