Original 'Plants vs. Zombies' free as well.
The PC version of 'Battlefield 3' is free right now through EA's online storefront, Origin, the deal set to expire on June 3. Alongside the original 'Plants vs. Zombies,' this is a part of Origin's On the House promotion, which pretty randomly throws free games at users of the service.
EA is definitely looking to spice up interest in the 'Battlefield' franchise in the runup to this year's E3, as it was revealed yesterday that 'Battlefield Hardline,' a cop-centric entry in the series, is set to make its official debut at the conference. Not coincidentally, EA also just announced that 'Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare' is coming to Playstation home consoles.
So maybe not so random. In any case, the consumer benefits. 'Plants vs. Zombies' is free until June 16 and, as mentioned, 'Battlefield 3' is free until June 3. All you have to do is bite the bullet on Origin, which isn't much of a bullet to bite in the first place.
