Universal Declaws 'Cat People' HD DVD

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced an indefinite postponement for its planned September HD DVD release of 'Cat People.'

The 1982 cult horror favorite was originally announced for HD DVD release as part of the studio's September 25 next-gen wave, along with the hit 'Patch Adams' and the 1994 remake of 'The Getaway.'

Universal didn't provide any reason for the delay of 'Cat People,' nor has it yet announced a new street date.

We'll certainly keep you posted if and when the studio reschedules the title. In the meantime, we've shifted 'Cat People' to the "Street Dates Postponed" section of our HD DVD Release Schedule.
