Although early word for Universal's November next-gen release of 'I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry' had suggested an HD DVD-exclusive "U-Control" feature, now-confirmed final specs indicate otherwise.
Earlier this month, some pre-announce information from Universal hinted that the November 6 HD DVD release of 'Chuck & Larry' would include U-Control extras. Now full details are in for the HD DVD/DVD combo release, and though the standard-def goodies are substantially better than originally expected, the high-def exclusives appear to have been trimmed.
Identical to both the day-and-date HD DVD and standard DVD releases are two audio commentaries (a solo track with director Dennis Dugan, plus a cast track featuring Dugan, Adam Sandler and Kevin James), five making-of featurettes, deleted scenes with optional commentary, and outtakes.
The sole high-def exclusive is the "Friendship Test," an interactive friendship game.
Tech specs include 1080p/VC-1 video and, in a welcome confirmation from the studio, Dolby TrueHD 5.1 surround audio in addition to the standard Dolby Digital-Plus 5.1 surround.
Universal has set a $39.98 list price for the day-and-date combo release.
