As the studio already hinted at late last month, the $110 million-grossing hit will be another in Universal's growing line-up of HD DVD/DVD combo discs, with the HD side featuring the film in its original 1.85:1 theatrical aspect ratio and 1080p video, with English, French and Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1 surround options.
Extras include all of the same features as the standard DVD release, including two audio commentaries with director Peyton Reed and stars Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston, four featurettes, deleted and extended scenes, an alternate ending and an outtake reel. Also, in what appears exclusive to the HD DVD release, is a bonus called "U-Control," though Universal has not yet supplied any details on what this feature might be.
Retail for 'The Break-Up' will list for a suggested $34.99.
Full details for the release have now been added to our complete HD DVD Release Schedule. We're sure Brangelina has already added it to their Netflix queue.
