Great video, great audio, and a $1,000 price tag.
There must be something we're missing here. It's not that we don't get expensive home theater gear, it's just that we don't see anything in NAD's T577 to justify dropping a grand.
The T577 has DLNA certification, so you can stream files from your computer, but there's nothing in the way of internet streaming. It's got WiFi though, so at least you won't have to worry about running a wire.
In terms of video, there's nothing that really stands out. It upscales DVDs to 1080p, and it plays Blu-rays at the same resolution with the option of a 24fps output. It supports Deep Color and xvYCC as well.
The T577 shines in the sound department. It's got 7.1 channel analog outputs, but you can send the audio out uncompressed to a receiver or preamp if you prefer. It decodes the latest in high definition lossless audio formats and shoots them out with 24-bit resolution via HDMI.
If the T577 seems like your kind of player, you can pick it up now from authorized NAD dealers for $999.
