Editor's Note: Since its original posting earlier today, this story has been updated with detailed info on this disc's specs and supplemental features.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced it will bring a new 'Immaculate Edition' of 'Monty Python's Life of Brian' to Blu-ray this November.

'Life of Brian' has been released in many past incarnations on disc, most notably a Criterion Collection laserdisc as well as a previous Collector's Edition from Sony on standard-def DVD.

Now, the studio is preparing yet another new anniversary edition for November 6, due day-and-date on Blu-ray and DVD.

Among the extras new to this release are "The Story of Brian," a 60-minute documentary, and "The Readthrough," an original illustrated 110-minute audio recording of the Pythons reading an early version of the film's screenplay. Also on the Blu-ray will be features from Sony's previous DVD release, including two audio commentaries with members of the Pythons, five deleted scenes and vintage radio spots.

Tech specs include a 1080p video transfer and uncompressed PCM 5.1 surround audio.

Sony has set a $28.99 list price for the Blu-ray.

'Life of Brian' will also become the second Monty Python film to hit high-def, following 'Monty Python's The Meaning of Life,' which Universal Studios Home Entertainment released exclusively on HD DVD earlier this year.

We've added a new listing for 'Life of Brian' to our Blu-ray Release Schedule, under November 6. Stay tuned for box art to be revealed soon.
