There's going to be big news from Blu-ray at this year's IFA Convention,
with format backers Fox, Warner and Sony set to unveil major announcements when
the event kicks off next week in Berlin, Germany.
High Def Digest and other top online and print media outlets received invitations
earlier today to the annual conference and trade show, which is set to begin
on Thursday, August 31. According to the press materials, look for Sony to at
last reveal significant plans for the launch of the PlayStation 3, while both
Warner and Fox are expected unveil details on upcoming Blu-ray titles.
News
from the latter is especially exciting, given that Fox remains the last major
studio that has not revealed any concrete release plans for the next-gen high-def
format.
Though we can't attend the conference, the Blu-ray Disc Disc Association will
be delivering to us all the late-breaking news direct from the IFA convention
floor. So certainly tune us in next week, as we'll be posting all the latest
developments as soon as they come in.
