After a maddening, months-long drought, Paramount Home Entertainment
has finally re-ignited its Blu-ray and HD DVD release machine for early 2007.
Hitting high-def simultaneously with the standard-def DVD release
on February 20, Paramount will release the Golden Globes favorite and likely
Oscar contender 'Babel' on both Blu-ray and HD DVD.
That will be followed on April 10 by a new unrated version of the Mel Gibson
starrer 'Payback Straight Up: The Director's Cut,' also due day-and-date on
both Blu-ray and HD DVD.
Unfortunately, not a single spec for either release has been released at this
time, and pricing details remain elusive as well.
