An update to the Blu-ray Disc Association's consumer high-def website has revealed over a half-dozen as-yet-unannounced Disney Blu-ray titles.
As part of a newly launched redesign of its consumer portal (www.bluraydisc.com), the BDA has added some snazzy new animated graphics, a series of enhanced FAQs and a scrolling news ticker. But most tantalizing for high-def disc fans is a newly-expanded "Coming Soon" list, which includes the first-ever semi-official mention of Blu-ray releases for a number of Disney favorites.
Included in the list are three catalog favorites, 'Nixon,' 'Coyote Ugly' and 'Hidalgo,' plus four newer titles hitting theaters this quarter: 'The Game Plan,' 'Dan in Real Life,' 'Gone Baby Gone' and 'Enchanted.'
We should emphasize that none of these titles have been officially confirmed by Disney, and the BDA site offers no street date info, specs or cover art. Still, considering the source, it's certainly encouraging news for Blu-ray fans.
Needless to say, we'll let you know if/when the studio officially announces any of these titles for next-gen release. In the meantime, we've added each of these seven titles to the "Release Dates Pending" section of our comprehensive Blu-ray Release Schedule. Stay tuned!
