The new tablet bundle is geared toward readers.
Amazon has announced the latest addition to its lineup of Fire tablet packages. The Fire HD 8 Reader’s Edition bundle includes a new Fire HD 8 Tablet, a year of Kindle Unlimited with access to over 1 million books, and a limited edition leather cover.
"Fire HD 8 Reader’s Edition simply delivers the best reading experience on any tablet," said Charlie Tritschler, Vice President, Amazon Devices. "With an incredibly thin and light design and 8" HD color display, this is the perfect tablet for reading—a year of Kindle Unlimited with access to over a million books, plus innovative new features like Blue Shade—now even more readers can curl up in bed with their favorite stories."
The Fire HD 8 Reader's Edition features an 8-inch 1280 x 800 HD display. In addition, the tablet includes the new Blue Shade option which filters out blue light for comfortable nighttime reading. Under the hood, the device is powered by a quad-core processor running Fire OS "Bellini." A 720p front-facing camera and a 5MP rear-facing camera are integrated as well. Other reading-friendly features include a Bookerly Font designed for digital displays, adjustable font sizes, multi-colored word highlighting, Word Runner speed reading, Audible access, and more. Finally, the Fire HD 8 Reader's Edition bundle also includes a year of Kindle Unlimited with over 1 million books and unlimited listening to thousands of audiobooks, and a limited edition rustic brown leather cover.
Amazon's Fire HD 8 Reader's Edition bundle is now available for pre-order for $250. Shipments will begin on December 9.
