Everything else is onesie twosie. No Avatar or Abyss announcement, just a slow week in general.

As mentioned above, there are no New Releases this week, but a few gems worth picking up nevertheless. Let's get through the list by boutique label.
Import Monday begins with Arrow Video's Naked Lunch. The general release is a traditional 'fat pack' as I call it, and then there is an Original Artwork Slipcase Limited Edition available via Arrow Video's site only. If you choose to hold off for the Turbine Media releases, those street on April 28th. I opted for the Jean-Baptiste Chuat artwork, anyone that knows me knows I am a traditionalist cover art kind of guy, so this is quite a deviation from the norm.
On to Tuesday Domestic releases, first from Warner Bros., the delayed release of Rebel Without a Cause comes to us as a standard edition and as a Best Buy Exclusive SteelBook.
Still with Warner Bros., the animated release All-Star Superman.
Kino Lorber is next with two totally different crime dramas, first we get 12 Angry Men, a classic courtroom drama with a "Must Own" rating according to or own David Krauss.
Next up from Kino Lorber is Serpico, a biographical crime drama starring Al Pacino.
From Scream Factory, The Haunting of Julia.
Finally, from Criterion Collection, Ingmar Bergman's The Seventh Seal.
Next week, what a RWBY / Justice League crossover looks like, (maybe) more Jackie Chan with Police Story 3, a pair of Indicator vampire flicks and more.

The rest of this category is a bit slow. As far as units sold, the biggest title of the week is probably Cocaine Bear from Universal Pictures. Is it big enough to merit a 4K disc? Probably. A UK release by MediumRare Entertainment has just been announced for May 29 if you wanna wait. Also from Universal, look for Marlowe, a crime/thriller starring Liam Neeson, Diane Kruger and Jessica Lange.
TV on disc this week includes Blondie: The Complete Television Series and Midsomer Murders: Series 23.

LionsGate's thriller of the week is Righteous Thieves. Adding an action element to the thriller and you get Transfusion. (Neither of these films star Bruce Willis).
Next week's blu-ray category looks like walletmageddon all over again, even for those that pick up 4K stuff first!

As we mentioned above, Turbine Media has announced 3 different media books for David Cronenberg's Naked Lunch with a street date of April 28th. I did take one for the team by ordering an import, so a U.S. release no doubt is coming very soon.
Paramount Pictures will be releasing The Firm and Vanilla Sky to 4K disc on June 20th.
Unless things change, the Super Mario movie will be streeting June 6th to blu-ray, 4K and 4K SteelBook.

The wry, incisive debut feature by Cheryl Dunye gave cinema something bracingly new and groundbreaking: a vibrant representation of Black lesbian identity by a Black lesbian filmmaker. Dunye stars as Cheryl, a video-store clerk and aspiring director whose interest in forgotten Black actresses leads her to investigate an obscure 1930s performer known as the Watermelon Woman, whose story proves to have surprising resonances with Cheryl’s own life as she navigates a new relationship with a white girlfriend (Guinevere Turner). Balancing breezy romantic comedy with a serious inquiry into the history of Black and queer women in Hollywood, The Watermelon Woman slyly rewrites long-standing constructions of race and sexuality on-screen, introducing an important voice in American cinema.

On the same date comes Martin Scorsese's 1985 dark comedy After Hours also available on Blu-ray.
Desperate to escape his mind-numbing routine, uptown Manhattan office worker Paul Hackett (Griffin Dunne) ventures downtown for a hookup with a mystery woman (Rosanna Arquette). So begins the wildest night of his life, as bizarre occurrences—involving underground-art punks, a distressed waitress, a crazed Mister Softee truck driver, and a bagel-and-cream-cheese paperweight—pile up with anxiety-inducing relentlessness and thwart his attempts to get home. Arriving on July 18 is a 4K UHD upgrade of Jean-Luc Godard's Breathless.
There was before Breathless, and there was after Breathless. Jean-Luc Godard burst onto the film scene in 1960 with this jazzy, free-form, and sexy homage to the American film genres that inspired him as a writer for Cahiers du cinéma. With its lack of polish, surplus of attitude, anything-goes crime narrative, and effervescent young stars Jean-Paul Belmondo and Jean Seberg, Breathless helped launch the French New Wave and ensured that cinema would never be the same.

Also on July 18 is The Ranown Westerns: Five Films Directed by Budd Boetticher on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray.
The five briskly entertaining, vividly performed westerns made by director Budd Boetticher and strapping star Randolph Scott in the second half of the 1950s transcend their B-movie origins to become rich, unexpectedly profound explorations of loyalty, greed, honor, and revenge. Often grouped under the name Ranown (after producer Harry Joe Brown and Scott’s production company) and colorfully scripted by Burt Kennedy and Charles Lang, these films seem to unfold in a world unto themselves, staking a claim between traditional westerns and the subversive genre revisionism of the 1960s—and representing the crowning achievement of the underappreciated auteur Boetticher.
THE TALL T
Based on a story by Elmore Leonard, this collaboration between director Budd Boetticher, actor Randolph Scott, and screenwriter Burt Kennedy is a model of elegantly economical storytelling charged with psychological tension. Here, Scott is the easygoing rancher who, along with the newlywed daughter (Maureen O’Sullivan) of a wealthy mining baron, must use his wits to stay alive when he is taken hostage by a band of ruthless stagecoach robbers. He is memorably matched by Richard Boone’s dangerously charming, nearly sympathetic villain in a performance that exemplifies the fine moral shading that distinguishes the Ranown westerns.

Randolph Scott boldly subverts his upstanding image in this stark, often startlingly bleak tale of revenge and a man’s misguided quest for redemption. There, both he and the townspeople face a reckoning that forces them to confront disturbing truths about themselves. All but annihilating the myth of the righteous western hero, Decision at Sundown edges the Ranown films into increasingly dark, despairing territory.

The last collaboration between Budd Boetticher and Randolph Scott brings the Ranown westerns full circle, reexamining many of the films’ key themes and tropes: greed, loyalty, hidden motivations, and the fine moral line that separates heroes from villains. Scott stars as the enigmatic Jefferson Cody, who rescues a woman kidnapped by Comanches for reasons that may have nothing to do with the bounty offered for her return. One of the most bizarre and surreal films in Cronenberg's already bizarre and surreal catalog of films, Naked Lunch is steeped in hyptnotic imagery held by incredible performacnes and an amazing Howard Shore score. Burroughs has always been a polarizing figure and so too was this film. Part adaptation of Burroughs' novel, his actual life, and other short stories, Peter Weller stars as William Lee who after killing his wife, grabs his typewriter and flees to the North African Interzone. It's a hell of a trip and essential viewing for any Cronenberg fan. It's also damned hard to peg a specific genre. Is it comedy? Drama? Horror? Science Fiction? All of the above? You'll just have to huff your own tank of bug killer and find out for yourself!

Shout! Factory's various labels have revealed much of their June slate. In no particular order they include Creepshow 4K, Creepshow III, Motel Hell 4K, Private Parts (1972), The Strangler and Shaw Brothers Classics: Volume One.

MVD Rewind's Facebook page revealed the full details for both the Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray releases.
Zachary Levi returns with his SHAZAM-ified friends in the superhero sequel hitting 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray on May 23. There will also be exclusive editions available at Best Buy as well as Wal-Mart. Digital will release on April 7.
“Shazam! Fury of the Gods” continues the story of teenage Billy Batson (Asher Angel) who, upon reciting the magic word “SHAZAM!,” is transformed into his adult Super Hero alter ego, Shazam. Bestowed with the powers of the gods, Billy Batson and his fellow foster kids are still learning how to juggle teenage life with having adult Super Hero alter-egos. But when the Daughters of Atlas, a vengeful trio of ancient gods, arrive on Earth in search of the magic stolen from them long ago, Billy—aka Shazam (Zachary Levi)—and his family are thrust into a battle for their superpowers, their lives, and the fate of their world.
Both the 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray will include Dolby Atmos. It is unclear if the 4K will include Dolby Vision at this time.
